I use a well recommended and cheap VPS server that is on the top of the list here in myfxbook.
The support is nice, good and fast.
But I find the remote desktop connection very slow and unstable during the week.
It´s very annoying and needs a lot of time if I want to do things like intall a new metatrader, start an EA, change the settings… Even if I just open a new chart or switch from one metatrader (window) to another. Sometimes I could go to the kitchen and make a coffee before it reacts! Or the connection kicks me out. It doesn´t matter if it in the morning or evening. It´s always very slow.
I am ready to reduce the use of the CPU with some measures like closing tools and charts that are not needed, but I don´t think it will help a lot.

On the weekend there is no problem, it´s fast and stable.

I thought this is normal and every VPS is slow during the week. But now I would like to ask the community if it is really like this or are there better VPS that are also cheap (I pay 20 € per month)

I haven't tried a VPS yet but would be interested to hear more opinion on the topic. Is it really that slow or just you see it at a latency? Maybe your Internet speed has anything to deal with it as it is a remote connection. What was the explanation of the support about your issue? It seems in your case quality comes with the price.

I don´t think it has to do with the internet Speed. Elso it would be also slow on the Weekends, but it isn´t.
That´s why I try to push my biiger operations like installing another metatrader, start a new EA,... to the Weekend.

Next week i will try another VPS that someone recommended me. Stable, fast, good support and even much cheaper!
I will let you know.

With a live account and higher stakes I suggest investing into a fast, reliable and stable VPS with low latency cross-connection to the broker.

Of course, they are more expensive, but it is worth to pay the premium price. (A crashing poor VPS can cost more in trading loss than a year subscription for a high-end VPS.)

My favorites: CNS VPS (with <2 ms ping) for New York and UltraFx VPS (with <0.5 ms ping) for London Datacenter brokers.

You are right about that, Rob: 'always get what you pay for'...

I have learnt it with a few VPS providers the ''hard way''. Since then I don't feel bad about spending $180 a month for premium VPS services. I consider it as a cost of running a business; the same way I look at my losses.

$180 total. My tester VPS is $14 a month and my primary trading VPS is $120, which is physically located at the London Datacenter within 0.3 ms ping distance from my broker's server. It just does not get better than that.

That's a really fast one, good for you! It's costly but it's worth it. I also heard good things about CNS, I think if collocated with the broker server, they offer one of the best price-quality ratios out there.

Yes, CNS VPS seems to be the most cost effective. I have been using them for about 5 years on and off as my secondary VPS. I have tried many cheaper alternatives, but eventually I have always ended up with CNS.

Currently I am live testing UltraFx VPS because of their hyperfast (0.3 ms) connection to my new UK-based broker (VARIANSE) and also because my automated strategy is somewhat speed sensitive.

What happened in the end- have you tried the new VPS? Are you OK with its specs? FxMasterGuru gave a good example of the difference in quality and the price is higher.

Oh sorry, yes i wanted to write my experience.
So I am really happy with the new VPS. Very fast and stable! Also during busy market times.
And the price is less than half the price of the one i had before. I pay € 9 per month and they have even cheaper offers (€ 7)
A newer windows system (10 instead of 7) and a lot of space.
I will stay with this one 😎

I would not trust these servers, because I'm sure they will stick with the EAs.

Definitely you can get more for your money.
Sadly you did not share VPS parameters like RAM

I researched on their website.
I got 2 GB RAM for $22 on the former VPS
Now I have 12 GB for €9 😁

I am still very satisfied.
Yesterday evening I even did manual trading direct on the VPS, which was hardly possible on the former VPS 😄
