You are right, strategy is the main thing, but you can never ignore the importance of a good broker.
Nope.
Broker is as important as strategy.
There are many strategies working on broker A. and not working on broker B.
Moreover there are many brokers that are just taking money, withdrawing them is close to impossible.

Yes I agree with you! You cannot plan a trading strategy without the support of a good broker and a well equipped trading platform. Infact choosing a broker which is reliable and trustworthy is one major task for forex trader. Also yes withdrawals are equally important otherwise, what’s the point to trade with a good trading strategy if some dishonest broker will take away your profits.

Great value you are sharing here @Vontogr. I have learnt a lot from you.
Experience is so important in trading. So many newbies think that after a week they will be millionaires! Such naivety. It has taken me years to even start to be confident in my trading

Generally bookish knowledge is more appropriate for the traders who are particularly beginners , it’s all about basic information , real trader always try to depend on manual trading , it’s a part of real professionalism.

What about EA trading? Don't many pros use that ?
Pros use EAs in a very different way to most retail traders. Banks have high frequency trading algos that are nothing like the EA you get on MT4

Can a retail trader use a high frequency trading system with a mt4 ?

Why not, you can install for instance an external EA that is programmed with a certain strategy. I know that sometimes brokers are offering such HFT systems, but you have to pay additionally. You also have to be well aware of the risk parameters

Yes and no.
It all depends on your broker. If the broker allows HFT - you can do it.
If not …
Start looking for a broker that will allow it.
Usually, a broker not allowing HFT and Scalping means that they have internal system issues and their servers cannot handle the pressure and/or cannot execute them fast enough.
Either way - it's best to find a broker that allows HFT, scalping and hedging.

You need 3 things
1. good HFT system
2. good technical equipment
3. good broker - try FxPig
How much leverage is more appropriate for you it depend on your trading plan and money management approach . when I was a newbie I used 1:100 leverage in my live account for avoiding risk. but in my demo account I always took high leverage 1:1000 to see the performance how it works. this approach always cautious me to trade in a small balance for avoiding loss .

You know of any sources to get the technical equipment? What exactly do you need?
