Hi,

I'm a stock swing trader but I don't know much about forex...
What is a decent monthly % return for a forex managed account service?
I read 15%DD with a 20% a month return is possible, is this possible?

Does anyone have good, trustworthy managed account services with decent return vs DD/risk?

Thanks in advance!

20% a month seems high for Forex. A handful of percent is more likely but it will depend on risk profiles just like in equities

Average 5-10% is a good return, anything above it is a bonus...

1. For short term you can make 100% a day/week/month but with such risk it is inevitably leading to loss
2. Long term [years] I would say 5% on average
3. Always trust only persons with results verified here on MFB

Find out the average return FX traders can earn & how they achieve this. ... like 'Forex monthly return', you may stumble into some outlandish account statements ... proper capital management and correct strategy application can lead to high returns. ... the average Forex monthly return is between 1 to 10 per cent per month.

20% profit with 15%DD doesn`t sounds me real or long term. More real will be 10% profit with DD around 30% may be.

5% is amazing. 20% not possible in the long run IMO

If I was you, I would analyse yearly % returns and work out the average (+ average % drawdown throughout that period). In my mind, a 15% drawdown is just too large (my opinion). Aiming for an x% monthly return puts unnecessary pressure on a trader, which may lead to him or her forcing trades. You never know what will happen, it's wiser to manage your drawdown.

Like mentioned above here. Anything over 5% will not likely be long term. This is my golden figure is 3-8% a month. With a comfortable drawdown. It can go higher, but so will the dd.

Thanks for the info...

I tried ladyf-trader(google) managed account service and this service blew up my 1.5k account in a couple of months...
On the website, it claimed a +300% yearly return... She also got a youtube channel and blog which is updated regularly...
The first month it did great... after that I saw that positions were kept even though they were keeping going negative, this seemed weird to me and so I sent an email to know what happened. A good trader has a good risk/money management I thought so I didn't understand those losing positions which were at that time way more than 50% of the equity...

After sending the email and asking why this happened, some assistant I guess told me something had happened to their system but they would close the positions and get the money back BUT they will close my account down once they got my equity back. They didn't want to 'work' with me because of the mail I sent and I was not happy with what happened. It took some time before they closed the losing positions, after a couple of weeks it seemed like they were back on track before they were again losing big till today... and lost everything on my account...

First response about the drawdown:

'We had a bug in allocation tool, but its fixed now. I keep an eye on open
position. Don't worry, all will be closed soon with profits. I know its
stressful, but it was because of technical issue. I think in 2 - 3 weeks all
will be closed with good profits. '

Second mail I got about the drawdown when my account was already down by more than 70%:

'Dear Alexander,
we are not responsible for software. You has been informed about a bug in
system. We are working to cover the loss. Be patient. Also, we will delink
your account after account is recovered. As we not willing to continue this
partnership.'

So my experience with them was awful, just wanted to share my honest experience...

20% a YEAR is considered very good for a hedgefund so keep that in mind if you are thinking that by trading Forex you will make 100% a month!!

Sheesh...Another horror story!
Please, for everyone out there looking for a good investment : Ridiculous returns are impossible to earn long term. Look at what autoproviders offer.. Massive hedgefunds with millions of $ work hard at achieving a growth above 10%. Always be vigilant, always be realistic..

When there is a good year I am able to make 50% profit. That is realistic and safe to some level.
There is no such investment elsewhere. Moreover I know what are my strategies risks and I limit my possible losses to minimum.
Investing in some product I do not have such information.

Never use or trust to managed accounts and such kind of 'managers'. 😡

25% ROI annually is approximately 2.1% monthly profits.

If you started with an initial account balance of $400,000.00 USD, this would give you an annual profit of $100,000.00 USD

Even in an expensive city like New York, a person live a very comfortable life on $100,000.00 USD profits per year.

If it looks too good to be true, it's probably a scam! Let the buyer beware.

If you have $100.00 in your investment account and you make 10% ROI you will end up with $110.00 right?
The same would apply to a $10.00 investment account. If you make 10% ROI then you end up with $11.00

The math doesn't change.

10% is still 10%

Trading by using traditional trading systems based on rules or technical indicators and implemented, as single decision trees are increasingly ineffective.
If investment is a process, then automation is the logical conclusion.
I build Algorithms that are Not base on traditional technical analysis, interpretation or prediction elements or based on signals relying on historical data.
