   Hello FxPapa,
The duration of my last trade on EU was only 23 m instead of 58 m on your account.
I though trade closures were triggered by the server and therefore trades were supposed to close at the same time for all the clients accounts. What could explain the above difference in closure time?

Hi

FxPapa closes the trades in 2 situations. First is when the trades touch the TP level and the second is when it receives the close order from our server.

Your trade has torched the TP level (about 8 pips) before our server sends the close order. This happens because of difference between your broker's and our broker's tick data.

Regards

so this means now that the EA no longer self closes the positions based on the 10% equity loss? i.e. your server will be calculating the 10% equity loss and when it is matched, it will send close signals to the clients.

that was my suggestion in an earlier post to be able to achieve closer results to your account, did you update the EA to work in that way?

thanks for the great EA

Hi

FxPapa closes the trades automatically when they reach to SL level(10% by default). It doesn't need our server order.

FxPapa may close the orders before they touch the TP or SL level if it gets the close order from our server.

Regards

do you mind adding to your EA the option to let client decide if they want to the EA to decide to close the trades on it's own SL, or to just wait for a close signal that is based on the SL of the server account?

since as i mentioned before, some brokers will have different price feeds, so sometimes the price may just hit the SL of the client and reverse while it just misses the stop loss on your account, which will cause some differences in results, that's why basing the exit of the clients' account on the server account would be much more accurate.

thanks

just figured out that the same should go for TP too, since price on client side may just miss the TP and reverse back to a possible SL, while at your account price may just hit the TP because reverseing, due to the price feed differences.

Hi Fxpapa, am not sure to understand since I have no TP/SL on my side and trades depend totally on orders from your server.

Hi

FxPapa uses hidden SL and TP level. You can't see them. This means the EA can close the trades on TP or SL level completely independent from our server.

Fx im not talking about your ea, but sometimes ea close order with an indicator signal and they didnt use sl or tp (i make one in this way), if use a good indicator never make 200pip loss...so for me sl and tp hidden or not is not a problem i only look at dd..

good work :)
never give up...NEVER!

Hi FxPapa,

Just 24 hours ago, I attached your EA to my live account via a newly acquired VPS service.

Despite several restarts of the MT4 platform, for more than 2 hours now, the 3rd AND 4th lines of the EA message:
'Successfully connected to the FxPapa Server.
Account Number verified.'
have been missing.

This is quite unnerving, considering that I'm now using real money AND there is a GBPUSD sell order open that is 15 pips in the wrong direction.

I know you've said, in the past, that there's no need to worry about the missing lines because the EA is capable of monitoring open orders. However, what happens if the current order continues to go in the wrong direction, and your server issues a second, compensatory, order? Would I receive it if I'm 'not connected'?

(By the way, my demo account has not lost the 3rd or 4th lines of the message -- only the live account.)

Isn't there something you can do to ensure continuous server connectivity?

Hi

Don't worry at all. Just make sure the MT4 is running. FxPapa can manage the orders independently from our server.

FxPapa, you didn't exactly answer my question. If the 3rd and 4th lines are missing from the EA message, will the EA implement subsequent orders if a current open order is going the wrong way?

Hi

Shouldn't that information be provided in the FxPapa User's Manual? Especially since the default risk setting is 10%. I've been using 10% risk on my 50:1 leverage account for a couple of months now, and had no idea that 7.5% is the max acceptable risk setting...

Dear Roger

You are right. We should rewrite the manual. We will publish it with the new update.

Don't worry about the risk. The EA do it for you. This means for your account the EA use 7.5% risk when you set it more than that.

Regards.

Hi FxPapa,

Thank you for the clarification. I'm glad to know that I haven't been using too high of a risk setting all of this time. By the way, keep up the good work! The trades have been great lately... 😄

Cheers,
Roger

Hi

Today some of our clients missed the Last signal.

This happens when the spread is too high (more than 3.7 pips).

We have added an option in the new version of the EA which let the users set the max acceptable spread. We will provide the new update soon.
