Hi,Since last week you seem to be running this EA on more timeframes than what the EA was intended for (19-1 broker time). Is this intentional/backtested?There is a lot more volatility during the american session so the EA fires a lot then. So far so good but at a much higher risk hitting stop losses.

There are a lot of things that can go wrong with new traders.Overleveraging, aggressively adding to losing positions, trading pairs they dont know well enough, But what kills most, is holding onto losing positions too long. Being convinced that they are right and the market will go their way. Never be sure of anything when it comes to trading. Sure, price reverts 4 out of 5 times or more but for that 1 time you HAVE TO cut or your account will burn eventually. So there will be a next day and new opportunities to take on.FXOpen doesnt seem to give regular quotes for the last few days on the RUB...

99% is fairly accurate. The majority here is 'fooling around' (although they might only admit it in hindsight). chasing one failed robot to the next with a 1000 usd account is typical here.@Ambush_Trader . Nice account. avg win bigger than avg loss + equity curve above balance curve are things every trader here should admire.Everyone has heard of "cutting losers and letting winners run'' but not many here practise it.Im also going to employ this more often next year. So far ive only been managing drawdownhttp://www.myfxbook.com/members/Smokey/10-per-month/1022063Curious ho...

I dont make a difference between funds at my bank and a reputable regulated broker. For me its all one big money pile to pay bills from and to make more with from trading.Im in control of my risk management, cutting my losses as i see fit. It sounds as if your describing a martingale system with a margin call as stoploss.Sure eurusd can move 1000 pips in an instant. Like a government can shave your banksavings (ea. Cyprus) or you could get hit by a car, be paralysed and never be able to goto your regular job again. Life isnt riskfree. The fact nobody is able to show multiyear profitable account...

Although i dont dismiss a martingale system outright (manual or automated), the question you need to ask yourself, is it worth it. The initial steady gains come at a big price. You need to be able to live with the constant stress whether a DD will ramp up to unsustainable drawdowns. common pitfalls; overleveraging, backtest curvefitting. The characteristics of a currency pair are also important. The high volatility pairs (ea JPY) look profitable but they can trend strong and from what ive seen martingale always fails on jpy pairs. I consider audnzd the best pair for a martingale to succeed.PS. ...

Ok. you dont seem to get it yet, heres my last attempt. You dont need to withdraw funds every month like a paycheck to be a "full time trader". My trading profits cover my expenses and i spend all my worktime to achieve it, thats my definition of a full time trader. As long as your bankaccount and trading account are in balance it doesnt matter if either one is shrinking or growing: you sustain yourself. The fact i cant use the ATM for my trading account is just a matter of moving money around once in a while. Your financial buffer and/or whether or not you want to compound your retu...

I like your critical approach, but this is not how it works. You cant start trading full time if 18k (the amount i started that account with 16 months ago) is all you got. That would be gambling as you cant afford to loose that money. Having to rely on frequent withdrawals from your trading account for expenses is nuts. Before you become a full time trader you should build a big buffer (a few years expenses). That way you can create some workcapital you dont need. On the road to that buffer you need to become confident you can be consistently profitable. Trade small, save money. Before doing thi...

Trading full time a few years now. I love it, id like to work with numbers and graphs. Love the adrenaline. The constant "pressure" of being at risk 24/5 with open positions can become tiresome sometimes. They say about poker it's a hard way to make an easy living. I believe the same is true for trading. Once you finally master your tradeskills (hopefully without too many margin calls) your trade decisions will become more autopilot than they were before. With tradeskills i basically mean moneymanagement. It takes time to get a "feeling" with how your account balance,posit...
