FTSE 100 Gives Up Early Gains
(RTTNews) - U.K. stocks turned lower on Tuesday after opening on a positive note earlier on the back of lower Treasury yields.
As inflation worries ease, traders looked ahead to key U.S. inflation data and earnings from major U.S. banks for further direction.
The benchmark FTSE 100 was down 12 points, or 0.2 percent, at 7,682 after finishing marginally higher on Monday.
Warhammer maker Games Workshop Group slumped 4 percent despite delivering strong half-year results.
GSK rose half a percent after it struck a $1.4bn deal to acquire Anglo-American biotech Aiolos Bio.
Hill & Smith, the provider of sustainable infrastructure products and services, fell about 1 percent after acquiring Capital Steel Service, LLC for $6.25m.

FTSE 100 Up Marginally; Miners Move Higher
U.K. stocks are gaining for a fifth straight session, with mining and energy stocks faring well on Friday. Hopes that the economic impact of Trump administration's tariff moves will not any significantly hurt British economic growth.
Expectations that the Trump - Putin summit later in the day will help end the war in Ukraine also contribute to the slightly positive mood in the market.

China Economic Data Disappoints
China's industrial production, retail sales and fixed asset investment registered weaker-than-expected growth in July, strengthening calls for further policy support to rebalance the economy towards consumption. Industrial production grew 5.7 percent in July from a year ago, following June's 6.8 percent increase, the National Bureau of Statistics reported Friday.
