the only thing that has stood the test of time, is the market does what it wants, and no one knows exactly what will happen next! I have a good idea, what will happen, but no one is 100% sure!!

I hedge also, great opportunity to make $$ going both directions! For today, I have taken 481 pips for 1240.70, that gives me about .25% roi.

I tell people, Dr's orders, but really, I used to just sit at home all day and trade. Well, after 7-8 months, my family noticed a change in me and sent me to my doctor, who told me I was fighting depression. By the way, this was nine years ago, well before trading I managed retail stores, so I used to be very busy all the time, then I went to sitting all the time trading, and doing nothing. Was not good for me, so I found a job, that does not require much, and I am not depressed, though my family says I get moody at times!

I see you are from Canada, I live in the U.S., but have a trading group partnership in Canada. Yes, it is important to do something other than just trade, and my account is now over 6 figures and I still work a full-time job! I have my trading platform on my phone, so I can really watch it where ever I have a signal.

Thanks, I will definitely keep doing what I have always done, but some on Myfxbook, strongly think I am stupid. By the way, I am up 187 pips for the day, making 799.80, and my weekend in trading is almost here, though I will keep trading until the market closes!

I just looked, I have 129 open trades on my account now. On average, I close around 60 trades a day and open about the same amount, so with not closing any trades I have growth in my balance everyday, week, and month!

I like your calculation, steps one, two , but I choose not to put stops in and let the trade run the course, not matter how large of DD it has. History has proven for me that the trade will come back usually sooner than you think, and make a profit, rather than a loss!

I will agree with you, I have friends that probably need to be on an EA, because of that issue. Controlling emotion is a large part of trading, and after 7 serious years I just stick to my guns, and have little emotion anymore, if I miss a trade, oh well, there is always another trade is what I say to myself.

I trade many small trades which add up to 3.5% of my total balance, except I do not set stop loss on any trade and if it goes south, oh well, it always comes back around and picks it up at a gain somewhere down the road. This is how I have not taken many losses over the past 7 years. Call me stupid, but it works for me!!

I did make my own EA on my set of rules I created, but still I did not like relying on a computer that could not have gut feelings like us humans. And Yes my EA was set for large DD's, because I believe you need to give the markets room to breath, and not jumping ship. Yes the EA did similar to what I did manually, but it took the fun out of trading for me, so I stopped using it!
