I love the young with such lofty goals.
OK, start with Benoit Mandelbrot's book the '(Mis) Behavior of Markets.'
Because of the large error of unusual events (bell curve with extremely fat tails) I began to look more toward a distribution of events and tried to see where they originated, (like finding the pieces of bomb fragments and calculating where the blast came from). I figured a Taylor series, then I discovered how rusty my calculus was.
