Absolutely @Mario, Everything in life is a gamble. In trading, you can risk a lot and get rewarded, or you can stay safe and get poor. I think what separates the successful traders from the unsuccessful ones is the ability to control risk.

that's right Risk & Exposure is everything!
its the only things you can control, so why try to control somethings no one has control over,

my slogan is: Losing money professionally ;)

that does lead to profitability, but the average Instagram trader that want's to be rich in 3 days won't understand that.

I wouldn't make such a comparison at all, IMHO. As for me, trading is a completely different process.

I don't think intraday trading can be compared with gambling, as well as scalping can't be compared with gambling. The whole trading activity has some distinguishing traits, which help people to differ trading and gambling. Often, gambling just takes your money and it's almost impossible to give it back, because your emotions control you in these cases and you start lose and lose. The same thing can be in traing, nevertheless there are much more chances to bring your lost money back, because the mechanism of market price movement is clear. In gambling you rely on luck an no more, there are no strategies at all.

Garrian I agree with that analysis. I have never been able to go to a slot machine and have data to show me if I can win or not. Even if I rolled the dice at a crap table I still wouldn't have a clue whether I would win or lose. In trading my chances of winning a trade is all based on my knowledge of the markets, the news, the institutions, and my indicators. I trust my candlesticks and I trust my analysis. I am clueless when I go to gamble. I hope Mario decided to go get some education on trading.

One should not perceive the financial markets in terms of gambling because nobody has a chance to win forever, even with favorable bets. If you are not able to accept the losses, the financial market is not for you. Intraday trading is a business that requires not only the will to win but also the ability to make the right decision every time.

Not actually, short term trading is such a popular trading style! In my trading, I am also involved with long term trading, but till now I don’t consider the short-term trading as like gambling!

The other point is that price is fractal. The same patterns present themselves on all time frames, just at different speeds.
If you can't spot the liquidity then you are the liquidity.

Well that would depend on your P/L
If your in profit overall than your not gambling your executing proper well thought out trades .
If your losing than go to a higher time frame

Day trading is mainly dependent on technical analysis. Trading decisions made are based on technical analysis. Day trading can be regarded as gambling if the trader does not conduct proper technical analysis studying the different chart patterns and using technical indicators.

I don’t agree with this. You can day trade using 1 hour charts and that would be an ideal time frame. They are not too short but not too long either. Stop losses are important in day trading and gambling is when you trade without a risk management plan. A professional day trader will never gamble as they take up trades after devising a plan.

Trading is not that much hard if you earn knowledge over the market. Operating techniques properly is the prominent function that a trader must do. But, here is traders are failure mostly. So, to ensure handsome amount of earning, try to follow superior trading approach.

Any kind of trading would be gambling if you don’t have a plan to manage the risk. If a day trader has a good system and makes profits consistently, then we cannot disregard their efforts calling it a gamble or luck. So, I don’t agree with this statement at all.

Well, that is not the way trading in the forex market is. Gambling and trading requires speculation, but it does not mean that both are same. In gambling, the house always wins, but in forex, there is nothing like that. How can it be possible for anyone to trade without tools, right strategies, or right emotions in forex trading? It can never be possible for anyone to earn profits in the forex market who think forex to be like gambling. Gambling requires speculation with emotions and there are no tools or devices, only luck. Sitting in front of screens for looking at charts for some time does not make forex trading gambling.

Well, yes, intraday trading can be hard and difficult. But this does not make it anywhere close or similar to gambling. Intraday trading is quick, which might make it seem like the trading decisions are not made after analysis but it is not true. Traders use technical tools and indicators to trade. On the other hand, in gambling, you are not analysing any charts, or grossing historical data to backtest a strategy, it is simply relying on luck.
So yeah, practise your trading skills and polish them to make better strategies, and profits.

If that is how you feel, maybe you should switch strategies and take up a hobby if all you’re doing is trading all day long. You need a break to refresh your mind to make good choices. Gambling only happens when you have no control over your emotions and things start going wary. Find balance and structure and maintain discipline. Change your strategy and come back refreshed.

People call it gambling because of the high level of uncertainty. But if done with the right approach, it is far different from what gamblking looks like. Gamblers have no control over their emotional self and they have no plan in hand. If that was the case with traders, they won't make any money.

If blended with HTF analysis trading intraday can be traded just as competently as long term swing trading. You're still taking high probability trades, just on faster moving charts.
If you can't spot the liquidity then you are the liquidity.
