I hope they do, actually I did not think so, but, now I have doubt. I will have a real account that I will try to set as demo to see what happens.
On GBPCHF Nice downtrend, however, looks like it reached bottom. If I were you, I would be long or wait for break out, if you are short, lower stop to 1.4310 and call it a day. for what I can see, it can go either way, but, I would say it is on a consolidation, which is BULL.
Good luck with that mate.
Cheers.😄

I don't really care which way it goes, but been in a 50 pip range for days. That's an issue. I need a certain amount of volatility to make money. 50 pip range just doesn't cut it. If it carries on like this I'll boot it and go to the JPY's...

GBPCHF causing trouble here. NAV is still ok, but were not making much because it's all stuck in a dead donkey. Spent most of the day managing that.
What I should do is drop the trade sizes, which I can't, we're on minimum. Or add money, or drop the new two pairs. That will most likely lead to volatility in the equity curve, never a desirable trait.
Why GBPCHF is sitting around there doing nothing while the rest of the pairs are having 100 - 200 pip swings is a bit of a mystery. But hey, that's fx for you...

kudos, anadova, and congrats on your trading work, it looks nice.
mr coetzee, just curious, how much margin used on your account?
typically, with a metatrader account, if(equity<=marginused) margincall();
or, another way to look at it is: if(freemargin<=0) margincall();
so, considering that you are currently drawn down by approx -20%, your equity is $152.xx,
what is the current amount of margin that is in use on your account?
i expect for you to tell me that this is none of my business, but nevertheless, i will ask.
you may not answer me, but you will answer to the charts, sir.
i think that i noticed where you recently mentioned that you were considering adding funds to your account, so this tells me that your margin used is up there, perhaps close to that 152.xx level.
be aware that if you need to add margin while a position is open, your system has failed.
when trading small amounts of capital, almost anybody has the resources to add funds to a small account.
no problem, you say, just toss a couple of bucks on top of it, and hope for the best..
but what if you were playing a substantial account?
what if you were playing fifty million dollars, for example?
i will make a suggestion and that is that if you do not have your terminal set to the highest possible leverage setting, maybe you have your account set to play at 50:1 but your broker allows you to trade at a higher leverage setting...
i dont know if it would change your margin used amount if the leverage were changed while trades are in progress, but if you are trading at 50:1, for example, and you change your leverage to 100:1, your margin used value wiill be reduced by fifty percent.
good luck.

Ah,
But you sere Zero, and I been trying to explain this to you for years. It's about the risk. The speed of the NAV change. Why 800% a week doesn't work.
A guy like Byte, who doesn't say much on any forum, will tell you that he creates his own pairs and use almost all of his margin. As do I. Simply because of the use of the correct pairs and ratio's of such pairs one can still use your margin, almost all of it, and have relatively low risk, but bank like the clappers.
In this particular case it looks like I'm getting a fat tail. Slightly out, but that is more a function of MT's limitations than it is of strategy.
This is something you never understood. The more the NAV moves around the bigger the risk you take. The bigger the risk, the more likely you are to wipe out. You do not want a rapidly moving NAV.

By creating you own pairs, am I correct in assuming that if you decide to go long EUR/GBP, you go long EUR/USD and short GBP/USD? Or am i missing something here?
Based on some of your posts (can't remember where) you state that you are a positional trader. Am I assuming correctly that you try to get into a long-term trend via synthetics?
I assume you need the API to then manage your exposure in case it gets out of line. Based on your posts you seem to have very high volume of trades.
