Is there any real value to MYFXBOOK performance comparisons?
This system claims to have made 481 trades in 1 day. Earning 1500% in one day. Gaining 2669 pips in 1 day. All from an account containing $38 dollars....

Am I the only human left on planet earth?

How are reports such as this supposed to be interpreted and how many other system stats are bases on these type of 'facts'..?

Are you selling EA or managing accounts?

I will pay you 50% of profit to run a trade copier on my account?

This is not a system. All trades are done manually. There are a large number of trades as I average my trades out. Instead of trading with say 1 lot I will split it into 10 or even 20 smaller positions which I enter manually.

Once entered I manage the initial stops but do also make use an EA which manage my stops i.e. place a breakeven stop after x pips and trail with x pips.

I use MyFXBook to track my own performance and to share it with friends so not for any commercial gain and or anything similar.

So I guess its not just you that in regards to being the only human left. And you are more than welcome to setup something some screen sharing app if you want to see me trade.

Also, I will also mail you all the documentation i.e. the $38 dollars was a rebate from Aslan group on my other Pepperstone account wich I asked to be added here. If you want send me your email and I will forward it to you.

You can also follow each trade on my twitter account in real time (except for myfxbook delay). As said, you are welcome to any documentation and you are also welcome to setup a screen sharing type thing to see me do it live.

Before you make comments like these go check the history. You will see that I trade with up to 20 positions at a time of 0.01 size.

Rusty Nomad, thanks for the info.
I'm still confused about something which is the main reason I was led to question the numbers.
The start Balance says 38 dollars. Pepperstone has $200 opening minimum. I assume you are using a razor account?
The amount of trades and pips and profit, on a $38 account is the part that seems hard to grasp, at least for me (mathematically).

If I thought it then I'm sure others may also. So I'm glad you shared the extra info, and I do apologize. It s If it's all legit then you deserve credit. You have to admit, there is a lot of BS out there, so we are trained to and must guard against it.

I have done many screencasts myself. I wouldn't trouble you for that, but it was a nice offer..
Thanks for the response.

I can't believe how stupid people are when it comes to quick profits.

All you need to do is just show them an one day old account with 38 dollars on it and gaining 1,500% in one day and they will beg you to manage their account.

a) Yes Pepperstone's minimum is $200 but this is not a new account. I had problems with my existing account in regards to the price feed acting up. I contacted support and they suggested that I should move to a new server. They opened a new account for me and that is the one you are seeing.

I have an account at Pepperstone on which I test EA's. I get a rebate on this account each month from the Aslan group. When Ppperstone opened the new account I asked Aslan to deposit my rebate into the new account and thus the $38.88 deposit. Please see the attached emails.

b) I understand that the pips and the profit looks skewed but look at the average profit per trade. Its only something like $1.70 per trade. Also look at the average losses per trade. You will see that the losses are small. If you thus take the number of winning trades times the average profit per trade you will understand how you get to the profit made. Its all in the number of trades done. Lots of small profits adds up as you can see.

c) The pips being reported are correct but completely skewed. I will for example enter say 20 trades of, for example 0.01 lots, within a smallish 20 pip distance area. If price then moves in my direction I close all the trades. So even though the market might only have moved say 10 pips the pips being reported is 10 pips x the 20 odd trades thus 200 pips.

So you must not look at the pips as being consecutive i.e. the one after the other but rather as a whole batch within the same area, hope that makes some sense.

I have a Goolge Plus page up where I will share what it is I do. Not sure if it will help others but you can go have a look. I will share everything I have and know, no string attached so not to worry about paying for anything and or any other BS.

The link is https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/112064924575845524583/112064924575845524583/posts

PS: Sorry, just checked for that mail where I asked for the rebate to be deposited into the new account but seem I already deleted it. However, here is the one I received when it was done. This is where the $38.88 comes from. Hope that clears it up.

Here is the history of the account. You can see the rebate applied to it. Also, look at the first couple of trades. As you can see the profits are small and the commission being shown must also still come off those profits. See how those small profits add up?

Look at the closing prices, see how many of them are closed at around the same price? That is when I close out a whole batch of trades. Each trades pips are reported individually yet it was essentially all done within the same price range.

Hi UpInSmoke,

I read all the comments here and your responses. Sorry I do not want to ask you the same questions like - is it EA or manual ?. managed accounts ?. etc etc.

There is no doubt you are doing something extraordinary where no one does it. I want to learn by studying every trail you leave behind.

Thanks in advance,

Satya

The percentage is skewed as there are only two trading days and the calculation used on this site assumes that the same performance will be repeated for the rest of the month.
