Yes, you are right. When the chance for a trade to get back to positive is too low or the time for that is too long and the swap is high, it is better to close it.

So don't look at the balance value, look at the equity value!

So the 'Growth' curve also misleading because it is based balance values to calculate the 'growth'.

The DD is a big misleading: it calculate based on the balance value (DD=Balance(1-Equity percentage)). The true DD compares the equity now to the equity peak, not to the balance.

You are right @CuongVC !

Your MAM account is wiped off. Leaving us with a $8000 loss.

What has happened to you?

I can now see 'The user has made his system private.' What has happened? Was there not a stop loss? Not prepared for news event?

OMG! Thank you so much JForex78!

That is awful. How much of your money was lost? :-(
I assume that was some kind of Martingale. No significant drwadown. The equity is climbing up. Ca. middle of December a few bad open trades let the equity decline - first slowly, then fast :-(

Imho, montoring the drawdown could have saved the account. Just have a critical drawdown defined in the EA. If that is exceeded, shut down all positions and take your profit. Would have made him ca. 180% in 4 months.

Btw, I am not an opponent of Martingale. Just one needs to be alert and expect issues - often there is enough time to close and run....

That is why setting up maximum DD target before trading is very important for account safety.
Mostly traders underestimate this point and mostly fails ended with 100% loss because they think market will back as they want! No one can drive the market, so preparing maximum risk must take in place first to survive from unwanted market movement.

My account was $25K and went to -700.

If you were suggesting that I should set a max DD - I cannot do that in a MAM as follower.

I can probably come and close positions manually - but my experience has been some times the trades turn around, after client decides to take a loss.

So the trick question is, what is the cutoff DD? So I just let the EA do what it does.

We are now seeing that FXC has put the money back and brought it back to 25K for me.

But we are not sure if its permanent. More to follow.

Also we dont see anything in Acct History thats causing this 25K credit.

So this may not be permanent. We'll check with FXC.

There was some thing wrong on MAM software that it closed all trades when the margin level was still about 175%. Then the balance of master account and total of all sub-accounts' balances are not equal.

I have contacted FXChoice right after that. They have started the investigation. From 2 days ago, I and many clients can see that they have done some correction and that all sub-account's balance have been back to a good sum of money.

JForex78, I saw you have just successfully withdraw some 9k out of your account. I also have just successfully with draw from my account that is a sub-account of the MAM.

That is a very good news.

@CuongVC

Yes. It seems the error may have been on FXChoice's part. And all trades closed out.

Its very relieving that my balance is back to 100%. I do hope this credit is permanent.

Thanks a lot for your help, @CuongVC .
