DAX Edges Higher In Lackluster Trade
(RTTNews) - German stocks edged higher on Monday after suffering heavy losses last week on fears of a regional recession.
Italian political developments remained in focus after a coalition led by Giorgia Meloni's archconservative Brothers won a decisive victory in the country's snap election.
In economic releases, the Ifo institute said its business climate index fell to 84.3 from 88.5 in August, with both the current assessment component and expectations dropping significantly.
Expectations are now at their lowest level since the financial crisis as a result of high inflation and concerns over its implications on corporate costs and consumer demand.
The benchmark DAX was up 21 points, or 0.2 percent, at 12,304 after falling around 2 percent on Friday.

Higher Open Called For Taiwan Stock Market
The Taiwan stock market has moved higher in back-to-back sessions, collecting more than 680 points or 2.4 percent along the way. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just beneath the 28,150-point plateau and it figures to open to the upside again on Tuesday.

Singapore Bourse May Extend Monday's Gains

Among the actives, Nissan Motor improved 0.75 percent, while Mazda Motor accelerated 4.34 percent, Toyota Motor advanced 0.91 percent, Honda Motor strengthened 1.61 percent, Softbank Group soared 4.09 percent, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial jumped 1.86 percent, Mizuho Financial vaulted 1.40 percent, Mitsubishi Electric rallied 1.74 percent, Panasonic Holdings spiked 3.47 percent and Hitachi expanded 1.89 percent.
