it's not "good work".. it's just gaming the demo price feed. Look at the average trade duration (~0-3 seconds.) This kinda thing is pointless, unless the user likes the (brief) attention they get before their account is disqualified from winning. The kicker will be if the user follows up with "BUY MY EA" kinda messages here..

Further break it down to followers by broker.A lot of the top strategies are VERY spread and slippage sensitive. Some broker's spreads (for example, the feed that powers demo autotrade accounts) are simply too wide to capture gains various front page strats.

I'm shocked to read some of the names that people are suggesting for accounts of that size. ...

Fair enough. Post edited.Just understand, 99% of the time someone sets a system private on this site, it is because they are embarrassed with the results. So I assumed that was the case. I'm only curious about the HFT claim on the algo. Frequency of trades vs size of trades.. execution seed requirements.. and average time in position... etc.. I'm always interested in actual HFT strategies that can work on retail platforms and accounts, so far I've found none that are truly "HFT".

I want to say that I see little advantage to Advanced GET edition, but some traders who use the strategies they built into the platform might find it useful. Of course, you pay for the convenience they build on top of eSignal, so even if it's useful.. it might not be cost effective depending on your trading size and methods.

Yes, any USD sensitive news will cause gold's spread to get quite insane no matter what broker you use. I believe this is the result of just how much gold can move on news, and liquidity providers acting accordingly to manage risk as they make the market in gold spot. You wouldn't want to be left holding the proverbial bag either if there was a sudden shock to the USD and you were in their shoes. If you watch gold futures (GC) it's pretty much the same, sometimes worse actually.

Hey fellow canuck!Yeah, it's nuts how tight spreads have gotten over the last few years. I remember back when 3.5-4 was normal for AUD/USD and EUR/USD at 2-3 was considered "competitive"... and that wasn't even that long ago (late 2000's.)I wonder how brokers will compete once everyone's at rock bottom in the spread game.

Wow... holy blowout batman. Brit, most of your live forward test accounts were for $300. This one was much larger. Real money? Cent account? Ouch.

@Ramin_Rostami XAU/USD is effectively a CFD, just on the spot price, not front month contract of GC. GC always has a spread of something at least a tick... 0 would mean the market is crossed or locked. Buyers and sellers who have the same limit price == a trade, not 0 spread. (It can appear that way when GC is closed and electronic order entry is enabled.)

Title says it all. It would be nice to list and review sites offering educational material, or even commercial sites selling training programs.

Pepperstone's XAU/USD spreads are ~35-40 at the moment, but lower during London session seeing ~25 average and 18 on the low side. So variable depending on liquidity but still tight.

I do, though, mostly through stocks, as my day job is at an equity prop firm. I also trade FX on the side, and I started with FX before anything else.In answering your questions: - I made the move right after college (though I went to college later than most, since I worked in IT for a few years before going back to school.) Back then, I had gotten the hang of trading FX (and by that I mean I was net profitable over many months and many trades,) but felt that FX might change (being unregulated and decentralized) and it was important I develop my ability to adapt to new markets and constantly...

Incorrectly set the risk on a new strategy I just enabled for AUDUSD. So the larger gains in the last two days should have been less than half of the profit made. I was on the right side of the trade results, but had they gone south, it would have hurt. :SI also have refined the EURUSD strat (well, two of them) and am re-enabling them (I had one running for a bit before, I think it pretty much broke even but took a few more losses in a row than I was expecting so I pulled it to evaluate what might be different between my testing results and live.) By week's end both will be running full st...

Also, quick overview for people who haven't read the automated trading journal on ForexFactory (where this account was birthed:)http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=391701* Strategy was created on my own from scratch. * Used code snippits from around the net to help develop faster. * Not a coder by trade, only had some scripting experience from my old IT career and a few self-interest courses in Python to fall back on.* Absolutely no martingale or other risky betting methods are in use, account and capital preservation are key and the algo will bail on a trade that isn't workin...

Thanks! :)It's just an experiment since I don't consider myself a seasoned automated systems developer. I'm hoping my amature coding skills combined with a very good track record of successful manual trading can preform well.Hence the lower starting account balance, but if things continue as good as they've been so far I might bump that up quite a bit.Cheers!
