** Minimum volume over duration of contest 300 contracts. ** There are 20 trading days during the entire contest duration. that means one needs to place at least 15 contracts per day. If 1 contract means 1 lot then it should NOT be a big deal but if 1 contract means 1 position irrespective of lot size then one needs to place at least 15 trades per day.

It can allow you to open thousandsss of lots. Try to understand that 1 position doesn't mean 1 lot. A single Position can have 1 lot, 100 lots or even 1000 lots.In a simple word, 1 position = 1 order which can have as several lots in it.
