Two possible conclusions from this thread:1. There are no profitable traders on myFxbook. Or at least not ones who bother with forums.2. Profitable trading does not follow the rules set out by this thread i.e. at least 5% profit monthly - it may involve lots of small losses and occasional big wins (for example)
Any good reads?

The Hour between Dog and Wolf - written by a trader turned neuroscientist analyses the physiological and, consequently, mental effects of trading.Trading in a Nutshell is a nice book that helps to keep it simple when you try to get overcomplicated.Personally I think if someone is charging for your 'education' then they personally aren't making money trading so why would you trust them?

The whole point of trading in Forex is to take advantage of the leverage offered - why would you not? As long as your potential losses on any one trade are what you can handle - many people suggest 1 or 2% but I think 5% is reasonable as your trading account should not contain all the money you have for trading. Personally I think 1-100 or 1-200 is reasonable.Trading 0.1 lots on a 100$ account is just stupid - it's like putting all your money on your first hand in poker - you would have a very short game...

I have three different broker accounts - brokers do go broke, even reputable ones and it seems best to spread your capital around. In the same way you wouldn't keep all your capital in your trading account, only the 20% or so that you would trade with on a monthly basis.
Some help would be appreciated

I think you also need to seriously look at your risk management - to lose 30% of your equity in a few days is very hard to come back from - trust me, I've done it myself. You are trading lot sizes that I would only consider on a 2-3000$ account.Reduce your leverage and drop your lot sizes so that you are only risking 1-2% if your trade fails, as they sometimes do.

Hi All, I was just wondering if anyone is in a position to answer a few questions about making an income from trading.Like many of you I would like to make an modest income from my forex trading and, although I understand I am nowhere near ready for that yet, I was interested if any of you are already in such a position as I would, ultimately, like to be.I am a British expat working in Hong Kong and would like to remain as an expat, although I'm not too bothered about where. If I was in a foreign country and making an income from trading with, say, an Aussie broker, where would I be expecte...
