What happened in March and April 2013? I see you use a custom start date that hides a 51.49% loss over those two months, most of it over two scary-looking days in March. Are you now using a new trading strategy? Have you made some changes to avoid this happening again?

I wonder why you're suggesting to people that they follow your AutoTrade account with 0.1 multipler for each US$1000 in their account. AutoTrade will scale its trades according to (amongst other things) the balance ratio between the provider's account and the follower's account. Therefore, if the follower has 10% the balance of the provider, all other things being equal, with a multipler of 1, the follower will trade at 10% the provider's lot size.I'm following your account as a demo subscriber, because I've seen too many high-flying accounts crash and burn. Once I...

There's a bug in demo trading, where it trades full XAUUSD lots instead of what probably should be micro lots. This, combined with the martingale approach employed by this system, means that demo accounts are way over-leveraged and will likely die a horrible death. For example, my demo account with StanOK at 0.6 opened the current trade with 1 lot. My live account with approximately the same balance traded 0.01 lots.I like StanOK so far, but I would like to see the owner of this system remove the martingale component of it.

Oh yes, you're right. Sorry, bad chart reading on my part. I'm bummed I missed out on the trade, but I'm much happier to see that things are working the way they're supposed to.

Did anybody get today's 123 pip trade? I'm new to live AutoTrading, and I don't understand why my account didn't pick it up. See the chart below showing what should have happened. This happened in my demo account (screenshot attached), but not in my Pepperstone live trading account. Looking at the chart, it seems there were 7+ hours of criss-crossing the entry line of 1418.2 where my trade could have gone in.

Wow that sucks. I can't run a live AutoTrade account yet, but it came back positive for me on both my demo accounts. I got 25.3 pips. The maximum negative it went was -19.9 pips. And yes, it took a negative month for this system into a positive one.

Hello. Why have you created a new AutoTrade account here? It seems like you stopped trading the original one at the end of June, and then started this one in July. Usually accounts need three months of history, or so I thought, before they could turn on AutoTrade. This one has only one month. If you could explain what you're doing here, I'd appreciate it. Is this the same strategy as your other account, or is it different? Thanks.

While Project 500 Pips a Month is no longer available for AutoTrade, I'm still subscribed to it and trading it here. It seems that in the past when one of the trading systems I'm following has been pulled from AutoTrade, I've been disconnected from it and have been told to cancel my trades manually. In this case though, I'm still subscribed in my demo account.Since it's a demo account, I figured I'd leave things open just to see how they play out in the end, and since I was only subsribed at a 0.2 multipler we're talking a very small amount of pretend money anyway...

Thanks for the link. I read all that at DonnaForex yesterday, as it turns out. There are lots of opinions out there. So, what ARE your views of long-term profitable algorithmic trading?I've done a bit of C#, and some C back in the day. Of course MQL4 is suspiciously like a subset of C. Lately though it's been all JEE.@danielfppps I re-read what I posted on here earlier. I want to clarify that I didn't mean anything I said as harsh or as a personal attack in any way. I just meant that there are a lot of scammers out there who will happily take a trader's money, so it pays t...

OK, thanks. It's good to get a status update. For when things have settled down, it might make sense for you to maintain a status page where you list planned and unplanned service disruptions.

Hi Ethan. I've been keeping quiet about all the problems I've been having as I assumed you guys are well aware of them. Now that you've said this one issue at least is fixed, I figured I should mention that nothing seems "fixed" to me.First, when I go to http://www.myfxbook.com/autotrade, I just get "Please wait while we're loading live data...". It's been like this since last week every time I've tried. Similarly, my AutoTrade demo page has said "The AutoTrade system is currently undergoing maintenance. Please try again in a few moments.&qu...

I've been on this journey off and on over the last few years too. I started off developing EAs and realized how crappy the support network is for running an EA, i.e. backtesting, data quality, dealing with disconnections, etc. When MT5 came out, I built a distributed backtester network for it but then decided that MT5 wasn't the way to go after all. I moved on to other things in life for a year or two, and am now back in the forex world figuring out how to make something out of it.Daniel, I've been going over some of your stuff over the last few days. $292 is enough to pay that...

My balance and equity numbers are close enough that I didn't bother calculating this. That alone couldn't cause the differences I've seen. The Myfxbook team has made some changes to lot size calculations in response to some of the issues I've posted. That's good news. My Autotrade demo account is days behind in updating too, but I assume that's do do with the ongoing issues with MetaQuotes so I'm giving that some time to shake itself out. Oh, mine just updated 4 minutes ago. What do you know.

OK, now I understand. I thought that just meant that they haven't opened any new trades since May 23. I can't get onto my AutoTrade account to confirm that though as it's stuck on "Please wait while we're loading live data..."- Andrew.
Include leverage in hypothetical daily/monthly/drawdown AutoTrade calculations

When setting up AutoTrade multipliers, we're shown hypothetical daily and monthly returns, as well as drawdown. This is a great start, but it doesn't use the same calculation as described at http://www.myfxbook.com/autotrade/help . In reality, our numbers will almost always be much lower than the ones shown due to the fact that the max leverage of the AutoTrade accounts is 1:50. This means that if a provider's leverage is 1:500, the real numbers will actually be 1/10th those shown on this page due to leverage alone.

While third-party companies have received benefits from MetaQuotes, MetaQuotes is also receiving benefits from third-party developers. The more tools like Myfxbook there are, the more attractive MetaTrader becomes compared to the competition. The real point here is "our services are developed and launched new ones, so wait for news". I'm not sure if this is news of a documented public API, or news of competing services, but either way I guess we'll find out soon.

I'm not following the last two comments. Over the last month, the max drawdown of this system has been 3.24%, or $247. If you're running out of equity with this system, you're either trading too aggressively or you have too small of an account. Also, my version of this chart says it updated 4 minutes ago. Maybe it just updated since you posted, but it's updating as expected for me. In terms of history, the last closed trade was 2013-05-23, and the last trade that closed at a loss was 17 trades back on 2013-05-02.Further, did you know that several times a week they post updat...

Thanks, I'd forgotten about leverage, which is mentioned on the page where you choose the multiplier. However, that still doesn't change the fact that, as you say, the numbers don't match up. I checked 7 trades over 4 providers, and my actual lot size ranged from 5.8-220% what I calculated they "should" be.Systems can do all sorts of things to calculate size, like checking exposure to a particular currency or pair over the account, number of trades open, etc. If you have 10 trades open with other providers, this might affect the lot sizes of the trade you're about ...
