You start getting into trades just because you think you can make money, you should get into a trade when the opportunity is there else stay out.

If you are just starting here are a few pointers:1. Stick to the trend. Look for opportunities in the direction of the trend.2. Stop over trading!!!3. Don't get excited about systems here or in any other website showing 1000% returns in a month. They have huge drawdowns and even worse, they live in places that offer leverages that will drive your account balance to zero in no time.

If you trade manually demo and live accounts have a day and night difference because traders aren't prepared to handle themselves. Algorithmic trading means everything is programmed, you have a strategy running and it makes your trades, therefore it doesn't care whether your running a demo or a live account. I learned myself and have thousands of hours of just looking at a chart and seeing price move. I might have ADHD or something.

Demos are only accurate for algorithm traders. Live accounts for manual traders are day and night simply because of trader psychology.

The only way your are going to learn how to keep emotions in check is by trading a live account. Demos don't prepare you for that.

It is not gambling, being in a trade for hours is perfectly fine if you are very good at reading what price is doing. Being in a trade for seconds or a few minutes makes sense only if you have an algorithm and have huge funds so that you able to tell keep spreads very very low.

Demos don't teach you discipline. I was 14 when I started trading forex, today I am 28. My biggest lessons came from making mistakes but lessons did not start until I traded live. You have to build the right mentality. Demo and live are like day and night. That is if you are a discretionary trader. Demos might work if you are a algorithmic trader. Open a small account and learn from your mistakes.

I see that Euro getting much stronger is the FED's monetary policy doesn't change, JP Morgan seems to agree. Friday's article is a good read.
