After paper trading for the last 18 months, it took only six months of nfp gambles to realize it was simply not worth my time or effort to roll the dice on large volatile fundamentals .

programming language will not teach you or facilitate you in your strategy developing. Programming languages are for programming, not strategy . What are you doing in the way of developing strategy? I suggest getting formerly educated, 2ndskies.com or claytrader.com or something that rings true to you. There are educational systems and reviews on forexpeacearmy.com

question is, what are YOU trying to achieve?I really don't see the point of the article, other than to maybe scare possible clients into putting their capitol into a fund rather than trading it themselves...... I mean, the whole part about this being a zero sum event, where competition is everything, and longevity calculates your ability to stay in business , is kind of obvious. No one is walking into this making millions without even trying. Obviously, if anything is actually easy, everyone would be doing it....... yada yada yada. So, instead of trying to make it sound like it is useless t...

Clearly, you don't have kids and/or you don't know what it is like to work in a kitchen. As I said, it would yield much more time with my kids and wife. Do I need to explain how, or can you figure it out on your own

I believe the greatest reward for all this hard work will be doing it full time and dropping my day job. I am a chef, and it is rewarding and well paid, but I spend a lot of time at the kitchen and not at home with my children. Of course, I would love more extra cash for fun things like hobbies and music, and enough to save to invest for the kids, but if all I could get was a job I could do from home, I would be most satisfied .

the tool at the landing page of myfxbook shows you the time remaining to open and close, and that is always in relation to your time zone because it isn't written for a specific time zone, just time remaining to open and close

Going to that url you just postedit shows you the exact open and closing hours. There is no need for doubt, as this is a factual thing, and that tool shows you exactly when it opens and closes.First off, you need to understand where you are in the world and what that means for your time zone.I am in Oregon, USA, so my time zone is Pacific Standard, which is normally -8:00 GMT . I set that on that tool you posted, and then it shows the time zones in relation to my position in the world.Sydney opens on Sunday at 2pm , PST with its close at 11pm, final close on thursday night at 11pmTokyo opens o...

As I said, I plan on purchasing a server for a live account, this is a good solution for demo testing.Obviously I understand the benefits, hence why I am doing this. For demo, the execution is not important, hence why when I go live I will set up an account with my broker through mt4.FXCM seems like a great company, I am sticking with Oanda, thank you :)

I am currently running a windows server in my garage , which seems to be doing the trick for now. I have no backup power for power failure, but that is rare in my parts. I do however have a wireless node from my cell phone carrier on it, in case the DSL goes out, which has happened.I plan on purchasing a server for live account, this is a good option for now during demo testing.

You can't really say a strategy is currently working without at least three months of data - backtest and than forward test.Maybe it will be alive after some months, who can tell, why are we discussing it?Do some backtest, you can post results and talk about if you like. And then do at least three months forward testing if the backtest is promising. You can't say a strategy will work in any temperament and condition. EVERY strategy has to adapt to the market, often in few months to a couple years. Nothing in the market is constant

From my experience , if you understand the strategy, and you are the one programming it, than you have no reason to not trust your own code. Just like with any programming, you have to test and debug until it does what you demand of it.
Made $200 k profit but still nervous and not trust in my self .

yeah, babypips is a good honest basic course. I also found one at forexpeacearmy.com , its a little cheesy, but very simple and in depth.that ocean of confusion is more intense than you might first realize. I would suggest getting used to it being there, and always be wary of anything you see or hear about the markets. Any "free" info may not be "good" , and any "good" info will probably not be free. But that statement isn't always true.Since forex is an international market, anyone and their mom in the world can make a course and sell it to you for xxx$'s...
