Most of my gold winners were kept open for less than 2 hours so I think intraday trading is a good style for this type of instruments. I also had a successful trade around the elections 😄

@BluePanther You mentioned that you hate making decisions but I would add that creating the EA with all its settings is critical decision making process. In fact, it could be even more stressful to always monitor it and adjust it to match the ever changing market conditions. So I would not say that robotic trading will relieve you from the stress but it is true that it reduces the time spent in front of charts. I think also that there is no EA that can be profitable in long term without any single update.There were opinions about hybrid systems that seem logic to me 😄

What happened in the end- have you tried the new VPS? Are you OK with its specs? FxMasterGuru gave a good example of the difference in quality and the price is higher.

My trades on gold were quite successful around the elections, unlike my attempts on the DAX. It was a big ride back then but now all is back to normal.

I see the pair is back on the upside but trading in a 50 pips range 1.248. I would wait a bit more to confirm the bullish trend before placing a trade.
BREXIT won't happen until 2019.

If these guys want to leave the EU, they will do it and take the consequences 😄 Plenty of paperwork should be done for this to happen, so I don't think this is realistic until 2019.

I haven't tried a VPS yet but would be interested to hear more opinion on the topic. Is it really that slow or just you see it at a latency? Maybe your Internet speed has anything to deal with it as it is a remote connection. What was the explanation of the support about your issue? It seems in your case quality comes with the price.

You know what - I think you are quite right about the importance of technical analysis skills nowadays. everything is controlled on a massive scale by machine learning algorithms and at the end it is not your or my trades that will move the market. These days it seems more like betting rather than analysing and forecasting. I guess this is the new reality we need to adapt to.

I find the free tools very useful for money and risk management. Setting rules for managing positions allows me not to stay on the pc whole day long. If you make a good research you will most probably find a cheaper one, but I prefer staying on the safe side with stops not being hunted and a nice execution and spreads.
