Another things is that performance is calculated on the first deposit, while DD refers to actual balance.If you deposit 100$ and go to 1.000$ your profit is 1.000%If you go to 1.100$ your profit is 1.100% (+100%), but you did "only" 10% from 1.000$ to 1.100$.If you start from 100$ and your DD is 10$ your DD is 10%. When you reach 1.000$ you can do a DD of 100$ and your DD is still 10%.This fact make you look at the profit in the wrong way. Hi, I cannot complain with my income (let's say more that 50k yearly). Working for an Hedge fund is not so rewarding as working in retail world. If I make a record performance, nobody makes me compliment, if I loose.. nobody complain.For me the retail client is a true challenge.As I said if my PAMMs won't reach 1M$ I will stop this job in 2016. The fact is that 58% during days with low volatility means that the account was very next to margin call, very few pips from blowing up.I call this lucky, not trading. Nobody can make more that 10% every month for years, it's impossible.You can make 100% in one day, but you cannot do it for 22 days in a row!So, why many traders look for 2 digits monthly performance? It's not real!If someone show you an account with 20% monthly you can be sure that the account will blow up in maximum 1 year. Be sure of this!

I totally agree with you.I'm working for an hedge funde for more than 10 years. I'm trying to start an alternative income from retail world but I think that it will be very difficult for the reason that you wrote.I will manage my Master as the hedge fund that i trade. But if I won't reach a PAMM of 1M$ I will stop it at december 2015.I can make 6% monthly with 30% performance fee:1.000.000*6%=60.000*30%=18.000$ monthlyI won't do this work for less.
