As a beginner in forex trading, if I use a 1:200 leverage, what does it mean for my trading capital and how does it affect my potential profits and losses?

for ex if you put $1 in your trade you will having a leverage of $200 which means your position amount will be $200. tbh you can use as much leverage as possible as long as you follow risk management like risking 1% or 2% of the account you will be fine and keep in mind the amount of lot size you are putting

what leverage do you think is most optimal?

The most optimal leverage really depends on your experience level and risk tolerance. For most traders, especially beginners, a lower leverage like 1:10 or 1:20 is safer. It provides enough margin to make trades but limits potential losses. Experienced traders might use higher leverage, like 1:50 or 1:100, but they do so with strong risk management strategies in place. Higher leverage can amplify gains, but it also increases the risk of significant losses, so it’s important to use it wisely.

If you are new, stick with 1:10 or even less. Else you know what leverage you have to consider if you are already experienced :)

In my opinion , 1:200 leverage is good for a newbie. Because at these leverage there will be a low risk and average profit that a newbie will be interested to trade in Forex market as well as invest. When a newbie invest in Forex market and have not enough knowledge about leverage , they take high risk . so that leverage is better option to me.

why not 1:500?

Like I said earlier, using high leverage as a newbie is a quick way to blow up your account. Trust me, it’s so easy to lose everything before you even get started.

The leverage should depend on the asset volatility. Negative correlation should include the higher the volatility, the lower the leverage.
