(RTTNews) - After the release of U.S. jobs data for April at 8:30 am ET Friday, the greenback climbed against its major counterparts.

The greenback was trading at 134.85 against the yen, 1.0978 against the euro, 1.2565 against the pound and 0.8961 against the franc around 8:34 am ET.
