I still remember this from 2012. I was in a similar situation where my wife asked to withdraw.Sometime later when I do achieve success , I will definitely update my biography.

All brokers that I traded with calculated DD based on total deposit made instead of highest balance.

Maximum Drawdown is calculated based on {highest account balance(excluding floating P&L) - lowest account equity(including floating P&L) / highest account balance} *100.This is done at every tick.Example . A person deposits $100. He makes a trade and immediately makes $100 profit. New balance is $200. His new open trades have gone to a maximum floating loss of -$150 (when a spike occurs ) where his equity showed as $50 then in this scenario his max DD is :200(Highest balance) -50 (Minimum Equity) =150/200(highest balance)*100=75% DD.Hope I could shed light on this.

Any return % is possible in fx if you are knowledgeable enough. But to sustain very high performance consistently over long duration of time , say , a couple of years then I feel is near impossible. My interaction with many relationship managers, managing other people's funds in MNCs brought me to this conclusion. They aim for returns between 20%-50% every year.Lucky to get 100%+ in any year. I initially targeted 300% return annually but after a year found it to be very risky and difficult target. I considered my trading to be a last opportunity to trade and thereafter reduced risk and I am...
