No. Because he'll hold you responsible if he cocks up. You're the MM right? So is it an expectation that you correct his mistakes? Deal breaker. Walk away. Could well be financially better for you long term.

No yet, but I have been looking at them with one eye. But a couple of clients like Protec is suggestion you have to go pro and that's going to cost. Your average little retail broker just wont cut it. Have to go with someone big and reputable.Platform and those kind of things become irrelevant. At that levels it's about safety of funds, insurance, instruments, legal side and so on, whole different ball game.

Bloomberg. Interactive brokers. Maybe, just maybe Oanda. If you're starting out O, but then you'll have to ask clients to move later most probably.Bloomberg be my first choice. Wouldn't mess around with retail fx brokers at that level really.

Lets just time stamp this thing. 19th Sept today. Seeing that you're rubbing my nose in your greatness. So now you can delete the system but not the discussion.Right now 3 days old. I give it another 2 weeks or so before you see your posterior. The account is very obviously hopelessly over exposed. Forex 101 - keep it small. In all these stats there's only one figure that counts. Hint: It's not the gain.

Just in case you didn't know, all Macs have Intel chips now. They can use any operating system. Only differences are software really and they use SSD drives, basically flash drives as main drives. More reliable, see...no moving parts, more battery life. Better for the trader is case of power outage. Less likely to lose valuable tick data.But as a "network engineer" you knew that didn't you? Surely in the daily routine of "networking" you'd have to have dealt with one by now?! Nope....? Makes me wonder...And which mobile did O go for first....?!

Plenty of people trade on Macs. Everyone that can afford them basically. Half my buds have them, it's the better machine.And you're going to look like real chop when you delete system 3 next week. How's systems 1 & 2 doing and systems 4 to 100?

We had this conversation last year. Just before that particular account wiped out. I think the performance then was roughly the same as well. I'll be surprised this one makes a week. Same as last year. Mac Zero, were talking about Mac's.

Mac is more than capable of running everything he needs. Just needs to load one piece of software. Might even be loaded already. It's no biggy. It's in fact the better option, it's two machines at the same time. Zero, did you see the question was "what can I do with my Mac" as apposed to " what do I need to make metatrader work" ?The correct answer is the Mac can do anything a PC and a Mac can do. Of course a PC can only do what a PC can do.

All the modern Macs can run dual operating systems. I've been aiming for a Mac for a long time, but my laptops keep blowing up, so not going to spend the dough till I travel a bit less. I think they bend in my bag or something. But I did look into the trading vs Mac quite a bit and it's more than workable.So for me I get things I can throw away every six months without flinching. Might be worth getting a dedicated little netbook for trading. I did have a tabled PC though some time ago and the combination with O is a dream, trade by touch! I suspect that Apple tablet and O be an awesome...

Few around here. Sure they'll pop out of the wood work soon enough. I've met a few guys through the years who are really, really good at this. But that's after years. You approach seems good though, so welcome to a life of masochism...!!

K, be aware of the stats though.Only about 10% of those who try will be profitable and only about 10% of those will actually make a living out of it, so 1% of everyone who tries makes it.It's not easy money, it's a long hard slog. Only reason I kept going is because I'm hopelessly addicted to it. My poison of choice. But many lives have been ruined by it, same as a casino ruins lives.

Well, 20% a month compounded is 1000% a year. So....100100010 000100 0001 000 0005 years. With only 100 I'd take clients. Bigger you get that initial base the better, but here after year 5 it's going to be a pain. Starting cap of 10k I wouldn't bother with clients unless it's a really big account.

Steve all those $100's add up.I been playing with the O money manager and just on 30k stuffing around I already made my car payment in fees. And I been wondering for a very long time, how many $100 accounts are lying around at O unused because the trading failed? 1000 ? I'm not an IB...I find the whole IB thing unethical. You end up taking the client to the best remuneration for you, instead of what is best for the client. To much of a conflict of interest.

Errr - they actually do chose IB's from Kindergarten, anybody is welcome, the more the better. In any other instrument but FX you have to be a registered financial adviser in most countries to do what you're trying to do. I used to be one. Have to write exams and so on, do legislated needs analysis and things before you can place money. The FX dudes will take anyone, it's not legislated yet...I was looking into doing a company in Dubai's financial zone, and from what I've read, you're scratching the lions balls with a short stick.
