hey guys~
what MM % you all use? any suggestion?
use manual lots as MM can be inconsistent with larger account sizes, work out how much you are prepared to lose on any trade and work backwards.
GBP/USD has a SL of 55 pips if you are running 3 trades your potential loss is 165pips so if you are running a $5000 account and are prepared to lose 10% ($500) 500/165= $3 per pip
Guys please learn some of this stuff as auto trading still incorporates the basics
My first lesson was money management and is usually the first topic on ant forex course.
Why I also prefer to use fixed lots is if you have a good EA or system you actually recover any losses faster since your lot size has not been reduced by smaller equity available. More control with fixed lots... just make sure you calculate accordingly when using EA's that open multiple lots when in a trade.

VPS? You can use the VPS services from vendor recommend. I use it too. My recommendation is that to chose the server which is located in NYC and.
Choice of data center location depends primarily on the location of the broker's server. NYC is good for IC Markets, Global Prime however not really for Synergy or FxPro etc.

thank you!!!
My account is very small, only 3000USD. I set the MM off, and use 0.15lot/trade
it is about 5% risk. When the account balance grow up. I may reduce the risk slowly.
Just want to see others lot size 😁

I've run some tick backtest on revtraderpro and results are very bad apart from the last few years. Be careful. P.S Control point method gives different results so can't be counted.
What happens when you run again for a lower TP and SL?

I think for this EA will work almost any broker, it's no scalping EA...
The best way to avoid overtrading is to realise that playing the forex markets is a marathon, rather than a sprint.

hi Zek,
Care to try optimizing runs on 1-2 year sections out of the past then "walk forward" test to see if this "does the trick".. Doug says this should do it.
don't believe 99.9% of the EA e-ads out there my friends!

Since we are talking about brokers and all on here. I have just witnessed in a demo account with FinFX that one of my trades hit stop loss but when I look at the bar that was meant to have hit the stop loss - it didn't go up that far and the high of that bar is less than my stop loss.....? What dirty thieves! 10 mins later and I would have hit my TP. BEWARE OF FINFX.

@fxtrader10: While we're on that, I saw similar T/P shenanigans over at IamFX.com
where my beautiful Sell NZD/USD punched thru my T/P level by at least 5 pips, yet
the order was not closed, and wound up rebounding into a Loss!
That's the problem with variable spreads - very convenient for IamFX to have a
large spread at that time. Just sayin'...
Ever since then, I adjust my T/P's no matter what the Support/Resistance levels
say where the order 'should' bounce off.

Hi I was wondering if anyone was currently using fxchoice with this system?
cheers.
And I'd like to know if anyone using FXCM. :)
FXCM only offers 50 to 1 leverage, not enough for me...sorry.
My FXCM account is hosted overseas, I get 1:400... It is just great how much living in the USA restricts FOREX traders...
