Australia Retail Sales Data Due On Tuesday

(RTTNews) - Australia will on Tuesday release December figures for retail sales, highlighting a light day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
Retail sales are expected to sink 1.9 percent on month after rising 2.0 percent in November.
Japan will see December data for unemployment, with the jobless rate (2.5 percent) and the jobs-to-applicant ratio (1.28) expected to be unchanged from November.

German business sentiment hit the highest level in more than two years in August on expectations that the fiscal stimulus would help to kickstart the economic recovery. The business climate index rose to 89.0 in August from 88.6 in the previous month. This was the highest score since April 2024 and also came in above economists' forecast of 88.6. The German economy's recovery remains weak.
