have the same problem wasn't able to trade using my iphone.

same problem here can trade from laptop ok but can't place or modify orders on iphone (MT4 App) which works fine with my normal broker
Yes, accounts with other brokers are ok on my Iphone/iPad.
I just noticed that the only pair available for trading on myiphone is EURCAD, and on iPad, this one and 2 other, that's all :).
All pairs are listed and show quotes, but TRADE function works only wiht these ...
if this is a matter of some server side setup, I hope FXCM sypport is reading this

Well. Using to devices at the same time may cause this constraint. Try to use one at a time.

Is there an easy way to find rank? Currently I'm browsing the all competitors list and didn't find my name anywhere :(

I´m up 15% in the contest. lol Now I only need to improve by 900% to catch the leader.

Hi Rainer,
The commission is charged per side. That means you pay the commission once when you open a trade, and again when you close it. It's worth noting that the commission is the only fee FXCM charges. You're trading on raw FX spreads from 10+ competing liquidity providers with any markups, so any spread cost you pay goes straight to them.
The commission for the 7 most popular currency pairs is $4 per standard lot, which is 1.00 in Volume on MT4, or 100K in Amount on Trading Station. The commission for all other currency pairs is $6 per standard lot.

Hi FijianForex,
The contest started on Monday at 9am New York Time. Just now I successfully placed trades on a contest demo account using both MT4 and Trading Station and can confirm that my orders went through without any issues. Please tell me more about the tech issue you are facing. Are you using MT4 or Trading Station? Do you get any error messages?

Choli, I too noticed that but what I didn't notice was that in the beginning of the thread that issue was addressed before the contest even started. However, the problem as I see it is this...the person making the post said that due to FXCM switching to a new pricing model and having to update the feeds by region, even though you see a wider spread, you're getting the tight spread. Well, I beg to differ. all of my trades so far have had wider spreads than listen in the market watch, the one click trading interface and my indicator that shows the spread in a nice easy to read number in the upper right hand of my chart. So while what they're saying makes sense about seeing a difference in the listed spread and the price action spread, the other thing they're saying about "getting the true price(i.e. the lower spread)" doesn't seem to be true.
Unless of course it finalizes itself at the completion of the transaction once you close the position, but even if that's the case, it's still a hinderance as it affects peoples judgements and decisions.

There seems to be some confusion here. The prices you see in the Bid and Ask columns of your Market Watch window are indeed the prices you can trade on, and those are raw FX spreads from 10+ competing liquidity providers without any markups. Is it possible that the indicator you mentioned is using prices from the MT4 charts instead of Market Watch window?

And as at 4/11/2014 18:01 GMT the top trader is at 158% equity, not 900%
