Watching Bitcoin DeFi Take Shape For the longest time
I only saw Bitcoin as digital gold. It was something you stored, not something you used. Lately though, projects around staking and DeFi are changing that view for me. Lombard Finance caught my attention because of how quickly it’s grown. Their liquid staking model already pushed LBTC past a billion in TVL in just a few months. With their token $BARD now getting listed on Bitget today, it feels like BTC is slowly moving from being a passive asset into something that can actually earn yield while still staying liquid. It makes me wonder whether this is the start of a bigger trend where Bitcoin plays a more active role in DeFi. What do you think, is BTC finally moving beyond just a store of value?
That digital gold narrative will be tied to it forever but it’s now clear Bitcoin is evolving. Lombard pushing past $1B TVL that quickly shows there is a huge need for yield bearing benefits in Bitcoin's ecosystem. I'm actually watching it performance post-launch on Bitget also as I'm certain $BARD listing will really increase Lombard's adoption.
I might have to say this seem like the early stage of Bitcoin’s DeFi era before it's fully blown as it's no longer just a passive store of value but an active asset that can generate yield while staying liquid.
