Over the past few years, we’ve seen how centralization plays out in different industries, banking and even crypto exchanges. AI seems to be going the same way right now. A few companies control the models and the way we access them. Feels like how centralized everything was before decentralization came along with crypto.

But what happens if AI went a different route ? Imagine inference (the “thinking” part of AI) running on a global network of GPUs instead of one company’s servers. Costs could drop, access could open up, and privacy might actually mean something again.

I came across an approach recently by DecentralAI which is set to list on Bitget soon that brings decentralization to AI and transparency. The idea is to make AI not just cheaper but very accessible.

It reminded me of the time before Bitcoin but whether this decentralized model works or not, I think it’s worth looking into because the way AI is controlling everything today is scary. What do you think about this ? Is decentralized AI realistic and efficient?
