Do you think you can turn $200 into $400 in six weeks?

Right! That's why I say doubling $200 is significantly different from doubling $200,000. One may say theoretically they are the same, but that statement would be false. First of all, with $200, you can obtain a huge amount of leverage. But with $200,000 your leverage will be significantly less. Secondly, psychologically, it will be way harder to trade aggressively with that much capital. I don't care if you are George Soros, I doubt he would sling around $200k like it is $200. That is why I my original answer was within the scope of the question. If he would have phrased the question differently, my answer would have varied accordingly.

To double a small account is relatively easy and doesn't take very long because the trader doesn't feel like he's risking a lot with each trade. However, to double a $10,000 account would be harder and take longer. So, more credit should be given to a trader who has doubled a bigger account.

I learned this a long time ago... THE SECRET.

trade from a super small account. Like a balance of X that doesn't mean anything to you. Everyone has their own FUN money so use whatever is your level of fun money. This way you have no emotions to the money and now its time to trade your trading system like you should ==== without emotions.

When you are trading this small account, you have your larger accounts connected through a TradeCopier and this way you get the same +/- % on the bigger account without seeing the Emotional side of trading. ( Money).

i've been doing this for over 2 years now and its the real secret to becoming profitable.

I would have thought that you know that other accounts are connected to that one. Back to the original topic - $200 to $400 is possible, but the risk on the account would be high.

I also think that its not a question of is it possible, but a question of who is going for it - successful traders with large amount of money in their accounts don't look for such returns simply because of the risk associated - I think the less experienced trader you are, the higher target of return you'll see for your self; as time goes by and you understand trading (and risk) better, so does this 'target' goes down.

I think you have hit the nail squarely on the head 007. In my first demo account I made $87,000 on a $50,000 account overnight, but I've never done it since! I've had 300% monthly returns...with 89% drawdown!

But today my drawdown is 6%, my risk factor is between 2%-5% of equity, and I average 1:1.9 risk-reward. Oh, and this month I'm on target for a 100% gain...

I agree its easy to throw around $200 bucks and try to double it quickly, very different from $2000 or $20,000. But if someone wanted a plan to double $200 .
You trade .40 a pip and have a 500 pip goal for the month. 125 pips a week or 25 pips a day.

Im sure there are many ways to put that plan together. But have fun , there is one way.

Or have a large account but trade very small amounts oh and trade non-stop at hyper speeds

 - see example here --- > https://www.myfxbook.com/members/Fxringleader/fxringleader--professional-grade-automated/425943

Keys 2 doubling:

1. Consistent Small amounts ( No Gun-Ho [Shoot From the Hips ) Over Leveraged Trades...
2. Hyper Speeds
3. Realistic expectations
4. Don't hesitate to cut a losing position
5. Place about 300+ Trades per day
6. No Fear......

Thanks for the appreciation David.

'Wasn't it too risky?' Forex is a risky business regardless of how much of your money you are putting on the line. As soon as you open a trade your money is at risk. Is up to one to decide how much one wants to risk and it has nothing to do with lack of knowledge like 'thelastbear' wrote in the previous post. I don't know what school did he go to, but that doesn't make any sense.
e.g. A car racer is risking his life and he knows it. An Astronaut is risking his life and he knows it.

I see that you are new in the business. Welcome. The best thing one can do is learn how to use the tools available in toolbox. I'm talking about reading the naked charts and the indicators that so many people hate - I guess because they don't know how to use them - but if it is a hammer that you grab to hammer a nail, your fingers are still at risk even though you may have the knowledge to do so.

Cheers and good luck to you and don't be scared to try things just because some people don't have the guts to do so or it's not in the book.

😄

So true about risk, and I love the analogy of using a hammer to hit a nail and your fingers being at risk :)
Another analogy could be: you could use a soft fluffy toy hammer to avoid getting your fingers hurt but it'll take forever to get the nail in. So if we don't risk we can't expect much (if any) reward.

Hey Salty! I knew your name sounded familiar. A few months back, I was trying to find a way to trade on mac and I came across your youtube video.

Good looking returns! I too have hit the 100% before six weeks. For some reason, my stats won't update on here over the past 2 weeks. I am currently over 300% return, but that can change in a day now, lol... But, you can check out my profile at FF.

I am actually about to close my account and go back to futures trading. Dodd Frank has got me by the balls.

@ Salty..

Holy S#$%t!

That graph is so sick!! Lol!!!

Hopefully, I can get my graph to look like that one day.

This is the year I finally got consistent results. So, I am not worrying to give too much back. The real money I was trading got caught up in the Peregrine scandal. The funny thing is that the US doesn't want its citizens to trade offshore, because of lack of protection, but they can't guarantee us protection from our own brokers.

Yeah, I tried everything to get myfxbook stats to update. One day, it just stopped reporting. Nothing seems to get it to work. Maybe it is something with my broker's feed.

I would wish you good luck, but it seems as if you don't need it...

I will wish you continued success instead! Take Care.

Interesting numbers Golden Boomerang Laboratory , we are doing some local testing but we are not using 500:1 Leverage. we are using American Standards Low Leverage 50:1 No Hedging and FIFO Rules. this takes a lot of proven strategies out of play.

We are About to Test Some New Mathematics. today. under ruff conditions we will be using a seriously underfunded account. of only $500 with 50:1 leverage no hedging and FIFO Rules. if a system can make gains under these stiff ridged conditions and low balance. that's when you have a well oiled machine that will perform with conviction on a better funded account with more flexible trading rules. the link below is something new we have adapted some existing code to and are currently attempting to optimize.

Most people do not code there own EA's or they used recycled ideas that really lack solid logic so in the long run and short term. blow there accounts or damage them very badly. what this account represents is what's left of a blown account. so that is why the starting balance is $500 to more accurately reflect what a lot of traders accounts look like after the trading war is over. Feel Free to Keep Tabs on this account.

So the original question to this thread was! think they can turn $200 into $400 in six weeks? well let us show you. 😎
