Dear Signal Followers,

The markets have been a bit turbulent over the last couple of days and this has resulted in few losses. It is very normal for the markets to behave erratically for periods of time that can last a few days up to 6-8 weeks and beyond.

Fortunately this strategy has a threshold on market conditions that must be met before trades are taken. This is to stop multiple losses from occurring on any individual pair. The AUD USD and EUR USD no longer meet this threshold after the close of today’s daily candle and trading on these pairs will cease for the time being until the threshold is met again, however the open trades will still run as normal. The GBP USD is still meeting the threshold and the current short position looks like it has some legs.

I am still trading at $10 risk each trade (currently 2.25% based on the highest balance). This will remain in place until the account hits $500.

Dear traders and signal followers,

I would like to provide a full update on this evolving strategy.

Firstly, lets take a look at how the strategy works. The market continually rises and falls, therefore this strategy sells high and buys low with good precision, then rides the trend into oversold/overbought conditions, finally exiting at the first signs of a potential reversal. We take entries on 4H swings and analyse the D1 for overall market conditions.

Expectations:

Target - we expect a 50%+ win rate with minimum average R/R 2:1.

@ 2% risk per trade I would expect rare DD events of up to 20-30% (the last time this occurred was March 2019 on combination of AUD USD and GBP USD). However, this level of risk can grow and account to over 200% per annum. For example, between mid Feb to March this year, @ 2%, we would have made a return of around 50%! However we would like to point out that the swings during this period were quite unusual. That said, there were a lot of great swings and runners in the months before this time as well!

@ 1%, we can expect half the DD of 2% and so on for 0.5% risk per trade.

I have made 2 small and final changes to this strategy;

1. We have tightened the stop loss on most trades. Whilst this will result in a few more losers, this will increase the R/R of most trades, meaning bigger gains on the trend runners. Based on market nature and behaviour, this will be for the better long term.

2. We will be more proactive on the adverse market condition threshold. We have seen 2 losses on same pair in 1 day and this change means that we will stop trading much sooner. N.B this is a fairly fine balanced parameter, just like the SL. Too gentle, and we limit losers but also fail to capture a lot of breakout reversals with good returns. Equally, too high and we capture most reversals including a lot of the fake ones, resulting in numerous consecutive losses during adverse conditions. So we are in the middle where we capture most of the runners but open ourselves to some consecutive losses and reasonable DD. This is where risk appetite comes into play, a succession of losers will result in a succession of winners and so on....... How much the DD vs gains is up to the individual.

These are the final parameters for this strategy other than we will reduce risk as the account grows. I look forward to sharing the journey with the myfxbook community as well as some of you being directly involved (gentle reminder that no more subscribers will be accepted after this month).

Your system looks good. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm a little skeptical that you can make 100k by trading. Although according to user feedback, the system is working, so I'll give you credits in this. I like that you are constantly adding to the system more explanations so that users can better understand how it works. Way to go!

Thanks for your comment. The recent changes were final for this strategy. These address a few areas I was in two minds on when I started. There will be no further changes going forward.

Re being skeptical, I’m not surprised you feel like this based on the fact that most traders lose money in the long run. The way forward for this strategy is very very simple, good money management, being patient and sticking to the rules of the trade plan.

Thought I’d provide an update on this strategy. There are a couple of things I wish to cover in this post.

Firstly, we have recovered from DD wahoo! Yesterday we bagged a whopping 6:1 on the EUR USD and we are already short on this pair and eyeing up a short on the AUD USD at the close of the current candle. We are very near to hitting the biggest milestone of this strategy and that is $500. Yes I agree, it is not a vast sum of money, so why is $500 so important? Well, all trades so far have risked $10, which is the equivalent of 2% on a $500 account. Therefore once we exceed $500 we will then enter the compound growth stage. The only milestone after that is the big $100K.

The second thing I wish to cover is trader behaviour.......... I noticed that some of my signal followers withdrew their funds during the DD period, just before we entered long on the EUR USD and made our losses back. Guys! This example is EXACTLY why so many traders FAIL in the markets!

As a result, I will take on more subscribers this month to replace those who dropped off. If you do subscribe, please use at least $500 at 2% risk or $1000 at 1% risk. Also earmark 30% of your fund for DD at 2% and 15% for 1% risk (we should never hit these DD thresholds and they are more than enough to help manage emotions). E.g if your fund is $1000 @ 1%, $850 is YOUR money and $150 is maximum cost of running your business at any one time. So then when your account grows to $2000, $1700 is YOUR money and $300 is the maximum cost of running your business. I can’t be any clearer than this!

You're right. But no one needs to follow him. I'm just watching this system (not following, not investing, not trading). Nothing more, nothing lees. I just wanna see if he's reaching his goal of 100k though. 😉

the difficulty is that most want to obtain it with a ridiculously small amount of capital and this is a problem that is hard to solve and, unfortunately, with a foreseeable outcome.

You can still achieve such amounts if you're trading and investing consistent and on long-term. Maybe you throw in 100€ per month into the account and trade it with a 5-10% profit per month. After 5-10 years you'd reach your goal of 100k€. 😉

Interesting view......I totally understand this when I set up the account with just $99. Trading $10 risk per trade meant that the account could blow at anytime. However, if trading a low balance e.g $500 but only risking a reasonable amount like 2% per trade, why do you think that the trading balance matters in the long run if the combination of average win rate and risk/reward stacks up?

Which link are you referring to? Info re the start date? If so, please read the second comment on this thread on page 1.

It seems very uncertain and unpredictable to earn 100K with 100 dollars, all depends on experience and other factors affecting a trade.
