hey do you think these guys are exploiting a delay in price feeds or something? or just good at trading that particular one... looks pretty shady to me?

I don't get it why is the ita40 so easy to rack up pips. If I traded the Dow jones it woulnt be so volatile. Don't really see how these guys are making that much in indexes

Are you kidding? This is called momentum/trend and news trading.
Look up the latest international news about Italy's economy... they are simply playing the negative sentiment in that index, while risking a lot in hopes of a big payout, and it's working well for them. It won't last forever, and many accounts in this contest have blown up trying to do the same.
I say congrats to them for staying atop of current events and profiting from it...
Never trade for the sake of trading. Instead, wait for the trades where you have a clear advantage and exploit it.
