FX RogueWave 2.0 Breakout Strategy

The premise of the EA is when placed on a chart, it will establish Entry and exit points based on the Highs AND lows of an established number of candles in the past creating a horizontal channel. These entry points will lock in place until the EA is reset or certain conditions are met.
One order will be placed on chart if an entry line is crossed, LONG order for top entry point being crossed or SHORT order if lower entry point is crossed. Stop loss will be just before the opposing entry point or value in pips as set in the user defined variables (whichever is less).
If an order closes in loss, the EA will wait until there is a breach of the same or opposing entry point, in which a new order will be opened at the same or higher lot size based on order value sequence below. Series will repeat until last order in sequence closes in loss, EA is removed from chart, or losses recovered.

This is not the perfect Bill Williams Alligator entry as the alligator is not yet asleep (lines intertwined), but it is before feeding time (a market open - ASIA). No we wait and see what happens. 😎

Now we have entered a trade. The new yellow dotted line shows us where the Trailing Stop will begin.

Screen shot looks great. Watching the current trade. I predict within 4 days good profit on this EA!!!! LOve how the EA will change direction as needed and doesnt continue the same direction unless indicated. Also like the fact that it is USA and FIFO compatible and a small account can be used. Great for the average joe trader.

As I feared, the alligator was not hungry enough and pretty much slept through Asia market. Since that time, the bottom channel was breached twice hitting 15 pip SL. Order #1 at .02, Order #2 at .04 Lot size. Now we wait for order #3 to open during the next breach of entry point at .08 Lotsize.

In principle, Alligator Technical Indicator is a combination of Balance Lines (Moving Averages) that use fractal geometry and nonlinear dynamics.

The blue line (Alligator’s Jaw) is the Balance Line for the timeframe that was used to build the chart (13-period Smoothed Moving Average, moved into the future by 8 bars);

The red line (Alligator’s Teeth) is the Balance Line for the value timeframe of one level lower (8-period Smoothed Moving Average, moved by 5 bars into the future);

◾
The green line (Alligator’s Lips) is the Balance Line for the value timeframe, one more level lower (5-period Smoothed Moving Average, moved by 3 bars into the future).


Lips, Teeth and Jaw of the Alligator show the interaction of different time periods. As clear trends can be seen only 15 to 30 per cent of the time, it is essential to follow them and refrain from working on markets that fluctuate only within certain price periods.

When the Jaw, the Teeth and the Lips are closed or intertwined, it means the Alligator is going to sleep or is asleep already. As it sleeps, it gets hungrier and hungrier — the longer it will sleep, the hungrier it will wake up. The first thing it does after it wakes up is to open its mouth and yawn. Then the smell of food comes to its nostrils: flesh of a bull or flesh of a bear, and the Alligator starts to hunt it. Having eaten enough to feel quite full, the Alligator starts to lose the interest to the food/price (Balance Lines join together) — this is the time to fix the profit.

While still being in a trade prior to the FOMC, I have loaded FX Rogue Wave on the EURJPY to see how it behaves during a news event.

We got lucky! Even with the poor placement of the EA prior to the alligator going to sleep on the EURUSD, The FOMC news brought us back up to our Trailing Stop Entry and recovered all previous losses in the 4th trade in sequence. Even though this turned out to be profitable, it is a good example that knowing when to place the EA on a chart is just as important as what the EA can do.

Since the FOMC took us out profitably in the EURUSD, I removed the EA from the EURJPY chart. Now we will wait until the AUDUSD Employment news tonight for the next trade setup.

Looks at the percentage growth for todays trade profit. 89% monthly and 3% per day. At this early point its a holly grail EA!
Hope that after 1000 trades, its hits the proverbial average of 6% a month and greater than 1.6 profit factor!

Just goes to show when the alligator is sleeping, you never know when he will wake up.

Prior to the AUDUSD employment news, here is the setup. Normally, I would not have the entry points drawn within known support and resistance lines, but I want to test the news event with a smaller channel.

EA Settings for this sequence.

SL: Just above or below opposing entry point.
TP: Trailing stop begins at 1x channel distance or 31 pips in this case.
Trailing stop % is 50%
