According to the Consumer Confidence Index (ICC) in Argentina, a survey consisting of six questions pertaining to the perception of current personal financial situation and economic situation in the country; the future economic situation in the short term and in the long term; as well as expectations regarding the purchase of houseware and consumer durables, is used to calculate the index. Federal Capital (15.9%), Countryside (30.7%), and Greater Buenos Aires (53.4%) are the three regional indexes that make up the index as a weighted average. The index is calculated by dividing the number of positive and negative responses by the total number of persons that took part in the survey. Suppose if all of the responses to a single question were affirmative. In that instance, the value of the index would be equal to 100, in the opposite scenario, the value would be equal to 0.

Hodnoty vyšší, než se očekává, by měly být považovány za pozitivní (býčí) pro ARS apod očekávané hodnoty by měly být považovány za negativní (medvědí) pro ARS.
