Australia Westpac Consumer Confidence Index
Based on a survey of more than 1,200 Australian households, conducted by the Consumer Sentiment Index (CSI). F five component indexes are used in order to calculate the index, which they reflect consumers' assessments of their household economic state over the previous year and the upcoming year, their expectations for economic conditions over the coming year and the next five years, and their purchasing conditions for major household goods. Optimists outnumber pessimists, as indicated by index scores greater than 100.

Australia Trims Key Interest Rate For Third Time This Year; Cuts Growth Outlook
The Reserve Bank of Australia reduced its benchmark interest rate by a quarter-point for the third time this year as underlying inflation continued to moderate, while economic growth outlook was lowered due to weaker-than-expected recovery in public demand. The board decided to trim the cash rate target by 25 basis points to 3.60 percent. The decision was unanimous.
