United Kingdom GDP 3-Month Avg
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measures the value of goods and services generated in the United Kingdom. It is based on three-month growth rates, which are a better estimate of underlying GDP growth than monthly figures, which are more volatile than three-month growth rates. To put it another way, the monthly release can be considered as a monthly update on three months worth of data on the economy, rather than a figure that represents the economy for a certain month. It is possible to construct rolling three-month statistics by comparing the growth of one three-month period with that of the previous three-month period, for example, growth in March to May compared with that of the previous three-month period in December to February.
