MT4 OBV and Volumes Indicator

Hi alli have been doing some research and stumbled across the importance of OBV and Volumes (standard in MT4). I noticed they tend to be used in stocks more but have seen applications where it is being used in Forex. I currently have a OBV with a 13EMA over the top, set up on a weekly chart. I do have a Volumes indicator on as well. With the Volumes that is only going to give me a score in tick activity and i am only looking at a decrease or increase from previous?I am still trying to understanding the technical importance of how these work but i do see some correlations in price action alignm...

hey thanks for the reply i have been so sidetracked with work that i forgot all about this post.I am still trying to determine a good exit strategy but all those provided so far give me a few tools to consider as a whole rather then relying on just a single. tough decisions.....

hey Wreeves, Yes pivots are hit and miss, but remember nothing is completely flawless in trading. You MUST develop a system with your trading and whats makes it successful is your ability to stick with it and never deviate from the rules of engagement. I think that this is every traders problem. If you trade only S and R run a set stop you do get the runners/winners. I trade S and R but i use weekly and monthly for those key areas of proposed movement. Hey Rusty,Yeah its a tricky one but I truly believe if you study/back test you can get a pretty reliable indication of market moves. I will run with the method I have mentioned and see how that goes over the next coming months.The chandelier yes, I know of a very know trader Paul Langham for exact trading who uses this in his London breakout indicator/EA from memory.I think even something as simple as a 5/8 cross can be useful if you stick with it as part of your Rules of Engagement for enter and exit. Thanks for your lengthy reply most appreciated.I did stumble across a strategy online as up till now i have been trading those purely technical aspects to trading which we all adhere and follow too, with trading. The one i found was using 3 x 70 sma's on the close, high and low. You also used a momentum indicator set to 34 periods with a level of 100. You simply buy if you get a close above or below the 70's ma. If long then the momentum must be over 100 and so on if below. Hey guys,I do not really post in here much but I often check out other peoples post. I am a relatively new trader close too 3 years now live/demo etc now back onto live account and getting there slowly. I have a question and my apologies if in the wrong section: I know most of us including me trade support and resistance ( i tend to run off monthly weekly highs/lows) for my entry and exits. hey fokes,Sorry not sure what the exact term is for this question.I am wanting to highlight a Friday on my daily charts etc with a line on my blank chart so I know that it was Friday's candle. Do i need a indicator or can this be accessed in MT4?Any suggestions a great help.

I'd be hesitant on trading this at the moment. Tho i am new to the game. It cant make up its mind. But id be looking for shorting opportunities perhaps if I was to do anything.I do watch this pair frequently. Nice thread as well people!

Yes I have gone back to my demo after burning a small amount of money. I was on a 55/45 loss win but over time i can't sustain this if I want to have a future in trading. Back to demo to refine my skills for now. And starting with a 0.01 position is a very good IDEA.
