MT4i Copier is very reliable yes - it does EXACTLY what you have told it to do, regardless of whether this is what you actually wanted. Like any precision tool it has a lot of options and there are a number that you have to get right, it's absolutely not something you can just download and install and it will work the way you expected out of the box. If I wanted to do that I'd use MT4i's trade copier EAs - have one copy of MT4 running TOMS EA on a demo account taking all trades and on another chart running the MT4i sender EA, and have that sending the trades to another copy of MT4 with a live account running just the MT4i receiver EA set to ignore anything with a lot size less than 2 ...... that worked oops I mean would work ;-)

We want to compare the last month of a real account we've had for a while with a demo that we set up a month ago but the compare systems page is looking at the entire life of the real account - we need a way to filter the periods looked at by the compare systems page please.

It's the "liquidation" setting, and the level is controlled by the "MaxPercentageDrawdown" setting. I'm still running 1.89 and it's in there so I presume it's in subsequent versions too :)

On the 'official' account when drawdown hit 40% the EA closed all positions. If you remember back, that's when everybody started shrieking about it was all a big conspiracy because Dustin was hiding the trades on the official account and it had obviously blown up and they didn't want anyone to know.Well that turned out to be bollocks didn't it. The EA saved the account when the market went into freefall, exactly the way it was supposed to. It handled this 800+ pip trend very well for an EA designed for ranging markets. This latest wailing and gnashing of teeth will turn out...

Does this correlate directly as half the margin rate = half the max recommended risk ?e.g. best practise EA says minimum is $11500 for RL8, if you only have 200:1 would that mean you need$23k (2x) to go to RL8 and a 50:1 would need $92,000 (8x) (faaaaaaaaaaar!!) for RL8 or conversely with $11500 and 200:1 (1/2) you should stick to RL4 or on 50:1 (1/8th) stay at RL1 ?

I'm relieved, got both my longs and shorts out. Now got new long and short baskets going on but pfft, $17 in the cart is nothing compared to the $~800 I've been seeing. Can't believe I started this trading two pairs on a $1500 account - with the closing of those albatross baskets TomsEA has undone all the damage the other EAs I tried did to the account and got it back to where it started ($2000) and I've added that much again, now trading just the EURUSD on level 1 on a $4k account and now that I've seen what happens when the market runs almost but not quite 600 pips from t...

Trading EURUSD and suffering from the nasty short position - I've just watched TomsEA add a lot to the long basket when the market paused on the way down, then 13 minutes and 1/10th of a pip later add a boatload more lots to the short basket.Ummmmmmm ........

If we set the EA to ActivateEA = False so the EA can't open new baskets, does that mean it won't open any new positions at all or that it will open new positions as required to trade existing baskets ? Don't think this has been asked yet.If we see that the EA has opened a new basket which we didn't want it to and we manually close the position does that get rid of the basket as far as the EA is concerned ?ThanksGary

I don't know whether to be relieved or worried that the EA sold another tranche in the latest US session - while it's really nice to see the short exit come up another 80 pips it has dropped my Margin level from ~1050% to ~750%. By my thoroughly unscientific measurements (holding a marked piece of paper up to the screen to compare distances) the gap between balance and equity now is about equal to last November and it came back from that ok.http://www.myfxbook.com/files/chairman/20120127_10_10_31_drawdown.jpg

The current drawdown isn't particularly worse than the one we had in November, and that was only a few days after I started using the EA on my live account ! At least I now have some of the markets money to play with as well as what was left of mine before I started using TomsEA. This is certainly an wild ride, I'm watching my margin figure as closely as anyone. Will be interesting to see how much further it goes. I think what we need is a holiday in America, the rot sets in each night when the Europeans go home and the Americans have a clear shot at things so they need to be taken out...

I've been running Toms EA on a real account at Think since 7 November, when I started running Toms on it the account was at $1504. I only let it trade the EURUSD on risk 1. I've now taken the opportunity of not being in any trades to turn the EA off for the Christmas period with the balance (and equity since it's flat) at $1821 after a month. The drawdowns were interesting but we'd watched it haul itself out of the mire on demo accounts so there weren't too many sweaty palm moments :) 5 stars from me, which takes the overall score up to 4.

How does that work ? Surely an x period MA on a 30 minute chart will be in the same place no matter when the EA was started ?? Assuming the number of candles required to create the MA are present and complete then I can think of several things that would make the MA different between brokers (price differences, when trading started and stopped for the weekend etc) but I can't think of anything that would cause an MA to be different based on when an EA was started.If the EA is creating its 30 minute charts just by working back in 30 candle chunks from when it starts then possibly, but sure...
