The 15-minute chart at least can give pretty good short-term signals, I would call using it "gambling".

For now the pair is retracing, but who knows what will happen during Brexit. I would avoid trading it for the moment.

Brokers are panicking ahead of Brexit though. (https://smnweekly.com/2016/06/17/brokers-seem-to-panic-ahead-of-uk-vote/). Some have even said they don't know when they'll return to normal operations and trading conditions, others have changed all orders to close-mode only, some are refusing to trade EUR,GBP and CHF pairings altogether.

I don't think there's such a thing as Holy Grail of trading - there's just a lot of research, studying practice, etc. in other words, there's a lot of hard work if you want to be successful.
Do you prefer fixed spreads or dynamic spreads?

To be honest, the spread widening during news events is dangerous even if you're not hedging. It can widen considerably, take your stop and then the pair continues on its merry way in the direction you were expecting.

It will have impact on all EUR and GBP pairs, in my opinion. As you can see here (https://smnweekly.com/tag/brexit/), most self-respecting brokers have hiked their margin requirements for these pair and the closer we get to the referendum, more and more of them do the same. I would avoid these pairs in the next ten days.

I've already started avoiding EUR/GBP and GBP/USD. I generally avoid EUR/USD by default. I'm actually mostly concentrating on NZD/USD at the moment.

I agree, that's the best approach. There are plenty of decent pairs to trade out there, one can avoid trading the GBP and EUR ones for a little while.

Ha, it looks like the Bank of Russia doesn't trust them either, because they denied them the license they applied for in the end of last year. (https://smnweekly.com/2016/06/03/bank-of-russia-denies-forex-broker-license-to-alpari-forex-club/) Unsurprisingly they've stated they'll apply again for a license.

I generally prefer fixed spreads when that's possible, because with them there are no nasty surprises during high volumes and high impact events.
