Forget about the indicators, they might have been relevant at a pre-computanial time. I don't think anyone (anyone who is making real money that is) really uses them anymore in a computational age of data. And the markets are so heavily and so openly manipulated that the guy with the biggest pockets pretty much wins the day. There's no point in prediction unless you're using computational methods to discover direction. And that's very complex to do. I make no trading decisions based on any form of charting or prediction. Look up Investec's monkey portfolio. They get a guy dressed up in a monkey suit to throw darts at the news paper each year, and whatever he hits goes into the portfolio. The monkey out performs most fund managers most years. So randomness does very well in markets in fact. Directional calls are not what makes a portfolio work. Fx is different to equities and you have to handle them differently. In equities buy and hold makes sense, in Fx it doesn't. It's unusual to have big moves in Fx. So it makes sense to trade a lot more actively. Hope those thoughts help.

This is more than spam, it's likely fraudulent and thus criminal. Since the spammer has given a US address if I was Ethan I'd contact the relevant authorities.

It's positional. The only reason the draw down is so big is the trade sizes. That account does thousands of percent a year. I'm not going to make it public for a pissing contest. And it will draw down on that growth, obviously. Even if I cut the trade sizes by a factor of 10 it will still go parabolic. But I'd rather have that results than yours, that's for sure.

The markets are openly and obviously manipulated, any good system will take that into account, but I will definitely not make that my system like you have. The spikes happen so infrequently , meanwhile there are about 25 000 to 40 000 ticks or value changes per day per pair you can profit from. That's why I can run like this.

If you did look at my posts, as I pointed out to someone else, you'd notice I only react when I see something that's completely inaccurate or misleading or I think I can help. If you know you're not looking at volume then don't call it volume. Details are everything fx. Volume and volatility are completely different concepts, the latter involves time and then period or frequency becomes critical. It's like calling the moon the sun, sure both hang in the sky but one is a huge burning ball of gas, the other a pile of rocks and dust. And no I don't post my results general...

@sbnelson2005 This is so hilarious. Where exactly are you getting your volumes from? There are no accurate volume figures for fx. You're looking at ticks counts. What you're actually looking at is volatility, not volumes.Unbelievable.

You might have noticed I don't post much on the forum. I don't like forums because of conversations like this. I only jump in when I think I can help someone in the right direction or if I see something that is so wrong, so misleading that it could ruin someones else's attempts at doing this. You didn't make a mistake. You displayed a complete lack of comprehension. You don't have clue what's going on here. And you're helping other people down completely the wrong path. That's when I feel I am obligated to say something, because that's what people did for me...

It must be variable, there is no other way for the situation to occur. And I did explain it already, it goes without saying that the system in question is very likely trend following and not martingale. It's obvious. Or should be anyway. It's very hard to tell the difference between martingale and good risk management anyway as both will have large trade size changes. The difference between my winning and losing trades on a position is 500% in 100 pips. You're sabotaging yourself mate and anyone else that asks for help. Must be martingale, must be bad. Really ? Looks to me like it ...

Well, if you make stupid comment like that...Why do you automatically presume a variable trade size is martingale ? It's one thing if you want to sabotage yourself, but quite another if you want to help some other poor hapless soul over the edge with a boot in the back. Variable trade sizes are key to fx. Much more so than direction. It's ok to adjust trade sizes, it's not the mark of a doomed or martingaled system, quite the contrary.

When you know how this works, please feel free to comment.@vblake I haven't looked at this result, but in a trend following system you'd take a series of small losses at say 30 pips with small trade sizes, 0.01 lots, till you get on the right side of the trend. Then you increase your trade sizes as the trend goes for you.I'm sure you'll understand a 0.01 trade size @ -30 pips loss would less than a profit of say 1 lot @ +15 pips. If you add the two together you'd be at -15 pips but you'd ha...

C'mon @rob559 Need to brush up mate, blocking an IP address is like blocking a rain drop. Still going to get wet. Takes me about 1 second to change my IP and I have a nearly infinite supply of them.There's just no point.
