What is the average rate of return of past winners based on experience? I am new to all these. I don't see myself winning but trying to give it a shot to see what contest looks like.
Winners normally gained return of at least 10,000%...
Hi
Just take it a an experience, For contest like this, participant do not follow risk management...... either they go all the way out or bust.
Participate in a few more contest and you will gain experience.
I am also new to contest.
Happy trading......

But yeah basically want to know.. will I get disqualified for a specific style of trading or is this a free for all? If there is any admins from Vantage or who ever is running this contest, can they please confirm so myself and others know how to approach this.

Yeah would love this if it was legit manual trading only. A simple Arbitrage EA will easily get a few thousand percent for the month...
I don't wan't to waste my time trading if someone will just use an EA that will have insane results for demo yet blow a real account..
This is exactly what I was getting at in my earlier posts, namely, that there is no level playing field here...
When they advertise these contests they do not say 'By the way, people will be allowed to use robots/EAs so forget
manual trading'... They should just advertise EA contests separately...
Some people on here responded by saying that there is no big difference between repetitive manual trading and an EA,
only an EA is a more efficient way of doing what is done manually, in some styles of trading...
I partly disagree with this type of mixing, because if anyone who does not do EAs (and there are a lot of people out there
who trade manually, so we are not a minority or freaks of nature) wants to enter a contest and is not alerted to the fact that
he or she is competing against machine-run trading, then this is not only uneven but fairly dishonest.
Also, as others said, this is not a good school for proper trading but a school for overleveraging, overtrading, and casino
gambling... That is another topic, but everyone can think for themselves about what to take out of a contest like this
(whether or not they win anything)...
But yes, I agree with aidan_91 saying that this should be manual trading only and it really is a waste of time competing
manually against an algorithm, for example... I would feel much more satisfied being beaten by a HUMAN competitor,
for at least I would know what I as a HUMAN could aspire to... When trading the Valutrades contest I would see people
(or rather, robots) racking up some crazy stuff, like 6,000% returns... This is not a fair contest, let us be honest.
Not all EA's are scalpers, and not al EA's use martingale strategies. Also, you can be overleveraging and overtrading as a manual trader as well as an EA. In my opinion, The problem is the casino aproximation to a contest rather than the difference between the manual and automatic trading.

Lets form a topixc/group from here that are all manual traders, and we just compete with each other. forget the rest.
That would be great!
I do agree with you Pip.. also help one another build our strategies and share a few ideas

you guys missed the point. In this kind of demo contest, brokers are only interested in recruiting as many traders as possible to their platform, trading methods etc are of secondary importance 😲 it's just marketing gimmick and you can't withdraw your winning right away, so don't take it too seriously, coz they won't care how you get your multi thousand percent gain

Of course it's just marketing.
Everyone with a brain must know this.
For some traders the participation is only fun, for some is to show how good their method or their EA works.
The marketing goes both ways > broker to traders and trader to other traders.
Most participants don't even make trades in the contest, and those who do, the majority is killing their account very fast.
