If you want a 4% a month you probably have good capital and i would say risk in the region of 2% per trade.
If you want to spin a large amount from a small investment id say 10% per trade, with multiple trades this obviously extends the overall drawdown risk!

I agree with you Mark.
That's mostly pro did.
They risk 1-2% per trade.. and find higher RR trade.
You don't risk more than 10% to gain 4%.. it doesn't work.
But to make $ in trading.. the key is "CONSISTENCY".
Use 1 technique and start trade it.

Agreed. Also use small amounts to test strategies with real trades, factor successful strategies back into your normal trading plan.

You are welcome moerwadi. We learned from each other... learn from the pros.. and only pros will tell you the true story to become success trader..
Success trader or Pro trader in my mind... They are very disciplined and follow the trading plan 100%.
You can do a simple calculation by compounding an account with $500 makes 10-15%/m... you could literally grow your account to 6 or 7 figures in 3-4yrs.. but the crucial part is:
1. Consistency
2. Discipline
3. Follow your trading plan 100%
Can you do it? Then test your endurance with small equity..
If you can grow an account with $100 equity.. for 6 months.. very consistent 10-15%.. then fund bigger.. and keep duplicating.
If you consistent making >10% per month for years.. you are considered a Top Trader!
Unline the one can grow 1000% in a month..
So trading is same with any business out there.. just to be FOCUS + CONSISTENCY ;)

One can look at my trading. There is one real account as well. All accounts are in a real good profit.

You're hedging and you sample space is very small to talk it up. Get a year up then talk about your real account otherwise you're another joke in the park.

I'm new to this game but I don't understand why 4% seems like an unrealistic goal to so many people. If you use a system where you risk 2% per trade with average SL of 50 pips, you only need a net profit of 100 pips per month to get 4%. Is that really unrealistic? Even if you're totally inept you can use a solid signal provider or an ea and it should be doable. I also don't understand people who strive for 50+% monthly gains. why in the world would you need it? 4% monthly is over 60% per year. 6% monthly and you more than double your account in a year. Sounds like a dream investment to me.

it depends on the amount of the balance. if the balance of 1000$ then it is not difficult, but if 1 million$, here and on the balance of risks different

I wonder if u do a Backtest of 10 years old + 6 months Demo + 4 months of Real , them for how many time u do ur Optimization ?.
I think that u are confused in some terms. Or maybe u get that system optimized, them u dont do a Fordward test before put in demo?
