I am currently using 1:500 of leverage, as it allows me to use less of my funds and helps in diversifying my trade portfolio; thereby increasing the chances of profitability.
Isn't 500x too risky at the same time ?
Risk is not coming from leverage
It does come from your trading and money managenent.
You can wipe account even with 1:30 leverage

The less leverage you use, the better. If the leverage is low, you will refrain from over trading due to margins. I suggest using 1: 500 leverage. This leverage will always support you in trading.

I use a maximum leverage of 200X as it is a double edged sword which needs to be used wisely

If you say it is best to use low leverage and then say 1:500 is the right leverage to use
it does mean you know nothing.
Either you prefer low leverage like 1:10
Or you prefer high leverage like 1:500
You simply can't support both.

Currently I am using 1:30, being a new trader I prefer keeping the leverage low due to high risk assigned with it.
500:1 then take current account balance, divided by 20, so a $500 account would be using .25 per trade.

1. There is an account leverage let say 1:500
2. Which determines how much margin is needed for trade. For your example that would be
0.25 lot is 25 000 units
So for example 25 000 usd. With leverage 1:500 you need 25 000 / 500 = $500 for margin. For 0.25 EURUSD it would be 500 EUR.
3. Your example is description of rule for volume. So you would trade 0.25 on $500 account. That is silly.
You should have a rule for risk which consist of trade volume, SL and TP. So lets say for $500 account you should open 0.01 lot trades with SL and TP equal to 10.0 pips. So as result you get either $1 profit or loss.

my 350% gain in 15 trading days would beg to differ. 158 wins, 15 loses.

The lower the leverage in trading, the better. I suggest using 1:500 leverage.

currently i'm using 30x leverage because the higher leverage can be a risk.
1:100 Maximum often lower at 1:10. No point using massive leverage . Too much risk

low leverage is 1:5 not 1:500
So do you approve low leverage or high?
It really depends what you want to do?
If you are a swing trader you don't need an account with a high leverage but if you are a scalper and make tiny but large trades, higher leverage will help you.

I think 1:10 is the best leverage.
