It appears to be a good thing i was watching the MDP trades today. I intervened several times. Several of the accounts I have looked were at breakeven or a slight loss today. i ended up with several small wins.

Anyone using HotForex and MDP since they added a second Europe Server?

   Hello folks,

On the happy Friday night, I am suddenly curious...
how many guyz do you think is running MDP with over 100k?

Personally, I would be surprised if anyone with that much money was using anything mt4 based. You can get access to HFT systems with that kind of money.

And loss will be a high probabily outcome.. Better option is to trade it on a fixed spread broker.

spread? maybe it was too big for mdp to trade?

I made a point of watching MDP during NFP today. It is most definitely the spread that keeps it from taking these awesome trades. i wish i could get in and code a piece so that it would accept wider spreads if the market moves, say.....30 pips in a spike. If it would have accepted a 2.5 or 3.0 pip spread, that first NFP spike would have easily been another few trades of +20 pip winners.

Not on the bigger spikes. That is why I was stipulating that the wider spread only become active during spikes larger than 30 pips. Those are usually the only ones that have a significant pullback that would fairly easily exceed 3 pips. Is only a theory, but if it had been in effect, I would have caught both of the big spikes and hard pullbacks from today and yesterday.

Or trade NFP manually -
😀

but I agree. MDP still needs a spread setting.

It doesn't look like it has helped. I emailed support and they said that they are doing all they can and working with their liquidity partners to make the situation better and provide the ideal environment for MDP. Nothing yet. I was able to open 1 out 8 trades opened. The other 7 were off quotes. So until they fix this problem, if it is fixable Hotforex is making MDP unprofitable. I hope they fix it I would like to stay with them.

With the unlimited licenses that the maker of MDP has allowed it has really affected the effectiveness of MDP. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this. I have seen some people are running it on multiple brokers because every broker is going to perform differently. Anyone have any luck with a good broker. I am looking to move to a new broker that will actually fill orders and I don't get hammered by off quotes. Any advice from the forum would help.

Thanks

edlover: what is the problem with the effectiveness? MDP is working good as always over here and a very good week (one of the best actually) so far.

I recently changed from hotforex to finfx. Today around 14:33 I picked up a trade that got about 80 pips. I looked at demo and other live accts and it seems finfx was only broker. I would consider them.

That's true, it was a very good week, but I think there were better ones.
Also I expected NFP payroll day to be much better.

tenix: What VPS do You use for FinFx, as they have their servers in Finland ? And what account type do You use - ECN ?

Wow that’s really good. I wish it was the same for me. I am using Hotforex as a broker and I am getting hammered by off quotes. This last price spike it opened 1 trade out of 8. So it was trying to open 7 others but couldn't because of off quotes. What broker are you having such great success with? Hotforex is not cutting it right now for me. They said they are working on the problem but no results yet.

I hope whatever you are doing keeps working geektrader!

I made a killing on NFP!

to make some comments on a few of the posts here. I doubt you could trade MDP with $100K, the problem is the lot sizes. Especially during news, the slippage would kill you. I had this problem with another EA I was running, once the account grew over about $150k, the slippage I received on lots over 20 standard lots was enough to wreck the system. What I did was create several accounts and split the money up into 20k lots. Yes it meant that I had several copies of the platform running, but it didn't really matter as the EA just ticked over as normal on all of them.

Currently ThrustVPS with about 30ms, but I plan to move to one in Finland to get better times. Yet they have an elite ecn coming out with servers located London that will reduce all times.

Ya ECN

Intresting, where did You get that info about coming of London servers?

If You look for a good ECN for FinFx then I know one - however there is no english site and they are pretty expensive -> nebula.fi (they have 2ms/3ms to finfx servers).

Ya that was my issue. All the VPS are not in english and the few I found were expensive.

I talked to them directly about it. It's like Elite ECN which isn't advertised. I think it's $5000 or $10,000? They said something about the servers being directly located near the liquidity providers? I'm not sure on the exact wording. Sounds pretty good.

I'm surprised FinFX was the only one to pick up the large spike yesterday, but at the same time FinFX had a weird spike and MDP opened literally 30 trades on a spike the first day I started this account lol.

IBFX had too wide of a spread. If only I had a way to adjust MDP to use a wider spread during certain market movements.......but it is hard-coded. Maybe it is time to look into hacking it and adding the code myself.

or use another broker. what's a point to pay so much for your trading?

tenix, why you think FinFX was only one where NFP spike trades were triggered? LOL
