Anyone could give some feedback on the stats for this account?... I started with only $100 in early August and have been growing it with some manual and automated trading. Despite the swings in the last few weeks I have been able to 'survive'.
I would like to hear your input!

You seem to have a problem taking losses. Your history of 499 closed trades show a 489/10 mix in terms of win/loss. Your 18 open trades are all in a loosing positon. You have more open trades in a loosing position than your entire trading history.
I don't know what your risk management strategy is but there are parallel stories which show high win rates and growing equity but not managing loosing positions that eventually got out of control and blew the accounts. My 2 cents.

This is great input Dove_Services and I really appreciate your honesty. I definitely have to manage my risk and exposure. There are very old trades in there that I have been waiting to recover from but have gone against me.
In a scenario like mine, from your experience, would you recommend taking loss on older positions or worst performing ones?
Thx again!

Even if you go for a full re-set, you are still way ahead in terms of equity growth. You obviously are doing many things right except in letting your losses run. I think long term you need to address your discipline in taking losses if you intend to have continuity in this business.
What can you do with those open trades? I am afraid there is no good answer. You can bite the bullet and there are a couple of ways of doing it. The first one is to wait for a retracement or a rally depending on your position so that you get an optimal exit and therefore minimising your losses. The second option is very aggressive and is called a bullet play. The meaning to it is that you are attempting to dodge a bullet and that itself suggest that it is difficult to execute. Basically you add onto your loosing position at the extreme (in terms of std deviation, BB of distance from MA) and exit all the positions when they revert to mean. The idea is not to make profits but to generate minimal loss through the offsets.
Good luck.

Hey Dove_Services thank you for the advice.
I followed your recommendation and close open positions that were performing badly and kept the ones that had better potential for recovery. I made some ground in the last week or so by staying in the positive and closing all positions for the year.
Cheers,
Andres

This system is been modified with tops and bottoms for the Stochastic cross strategy. Another strategy has been added as well which is a combination of a Mean Reversion at M15 and a breakout at H1. The mean Reversion portion of the strategy can be set to open trades in Martingale which obviously may increase risk drastically.

I have decided to change this account from Semi automated to manual. After many attempts to use different EAs, I always ended up belly up with open orders that I wouldn't open personally so going manual this year may give this account a different opportunity

In the process to make more accurate calculations on opening and closing orders I have developed a quick EA based on Stochastic cross into overbought or oversold areas. Looping timeframes from M15 up to D1 and I have noticed better performance than my initial Stochastic EA cross which works better in a non-trend defined situation.

I'm continuing to fine-tune the existing Stochastic-based EAs running on this account and found that bigger timeframes play a better role in accurately opening and closing orders. HOWEVER, as you can see I had to exit several losing trades that were wrecking havoc in the account because I didn't have in my EA a proper way to look at what I called 'Nearby trades'. If you are interested in find out more feel free to PM me.
