Why?

I cant stress enough that the guidlines in the website are not a recommendation but are posted as a'MAX' use guideline. That means that the numbers in that guideline are the max you should use. Using less keeps your risk lower.

but only for 4.18 MT4 issue.

any other upgrade beyond 4.18 version problem?

New update will work on 4.18 + builds of MT4, it has autologin + it has new feature which would adapt lotsize if you're using mini account

Ivan - So that means latest MT build 419 is compatable?

Anyone running on 419 here? I still with 416 until I'm convinced all is ok.

Let me be the proverbial petri dish - I am running 4.19 on 10 different sessions, 3 different brokers - all EA's including Tom's and my trade management platform that relies on an EA all function perfectly - if you've been waiting to take the jump, the wait is over!

Paul, I have been waiting exactly for this. Update time :-)

Can I also ask you what do you use as a trade management EA based? Feel free to PM if yoiu do not want to take up forum space.

Thank you

Hi, is anyone using Hot Forex here? All brokers have updated to v4.19 by now but my HF account updates only to v4.18?

Has anyone managed to update HF to v4.19?

Also, there is a new feature in the new version of Tomsea to set standard & mini account. I did not really understand what should one do if we are trading with a micro account (1 lot $0.10)

Also, what about a UK spreadbetting account where 1 lot is 1UK£?

Thanks

Try this on the MT4 your on now log into a demo account which of course will log you out of your live.
Than shut down the mt4 and start it back again.
It should update.
Than after you restart because of the update just log back into your live account.

Got the same question as tradingshed on a UK SB account. I've set all instances of the EA to the 'true' setting on the basis that 1 lot = 1USD (or £1GBP, in our case) but could do with a steer on this.

Also, deactivated a couple of pairs as martingale fury was imminent, and I found EURJPY in particular starting to hit larger lot sizes on exclusively buy trades (now at 2.10). I thought the deactivated EA instance would manage the trades in each case and hedge accordingly, balancing the basket out for all trades (long and short) and closing at the appropriate point. What's actually happened is that the lot size has simply continued to increase for trades in the same direction (long), when the pair are clearly dropping, and not a short in sight.

Anyone care to chip in with a pearl or two of wisdom?

You can just replace the 418 exe file with 419 from another updated MT platform if it won't update. If account is micro (0.01 lots) you don't need to change the std/mini acc feature as default is for mini acc 'false' ie. set up for micro acc. Not sure with SB account what applies though.

I thought the same as you but now I have reverted back to 'false' as I have noticed the following dialog in the experts tab. It would appear that the EA is recognising that the minimum lot size is 0.1 for this broker (GKFX, UK Spreadbetting)

Ivan/Dustin/Tom, please can you enlighten us and give some instructions? Thanks

Deactivating will not help your case, even though it is the first step you should take.

In my experience, even if deactivated, the EA will hedge. If it does not, there must be something wrong.

My recommendation is to avoid all JPY pairs at the moment as they are deadly! I got a painful haircut on EURJPY and learned my lesson. If you want to try to save the day by hedging, do it manually using a trade manager like MYFX Console, it helped me in the past. Even if TOMSEA was hedging correctly, it would still not help your case as the size of the hedges is the standard 0.10 while

I just updated my acccounts with MT V419 & Tom's latest V1.91 following the instructions in the email sent & all is working ok. I have kept backups of older MT version & Toms' as well in case of anything going wrong though if I need to rollback but at this stage it appears to be fine.

Littlemax, perhaps you are right but on the instructions on the EA it states ' if your account is a standard account (1.00 = $10.00) then set FALSE, if it is a mini account (1.00 = $1.00) then set TRUE'

It is confusing to me and it does not mention MICRO anywhere.

Somewhat imprecise in the wording, I agree, but the logic intended by my interpretation is that if you have a micro account your lot value is in fact still 1 lot =$10 or 0.01 lots @ $0.10 x 10 =$10 if you like. Perhaps it should be worded 'if your account is a standard or micro account where 1.00 lot =$10 or 1 micro lot = $0.10 ). Basically the question should be 'mini' or 'standard/micro'- I have set it @ false for my live micro accounts & all is working as intended with lot sizes.
I was actually rather apprehensive about updating Toms as it was quite ok the way I already had it, but the auto login feature is something I always wanted for safety & requested from them in the early days - especially useful if you use CNS VPS services with autoboot feature for re-starting in event of crash or re-boot, which wouldn't work with the ea before of course.

   Hello Ivan,

today I checked with my broker (IBFX), they did not issue build 419 because they think there are many issues to solve.

so TOMs EAv1.91 can work well with MT4 build 409? I need the auto-log-in function in v1.91. but I am doubting whether v1.91 support build 409 or not.

thanks!

1.91 won't work under 4.09 MT4, what you need is EA 1.89 with autologin support. I've started a thread with this version download link on user forum couple weeks ago, it should still be there. If you won't be able to find it - contact us in live chat and we'll give you one
