Philly Fed Index Slumps To Lowest Level Since May 2020
A report released by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia on Thursday showed regional manufacturing activity unexpectedly contracted at a faster rate in the month of November. The Philly Fed said its diffusion index for current activity tumbled to a negative 19.4 in November from a negative 8.7 in October.

U.S. Housing Starts Show Notable Decrease In October, Building Permits Pull Back Sharply
New residential construction in the U.S. showed a notable decrease in the month of October, the Commerce Department revealed in a report released on Thursday. The report said housing starts tumbled by 4.2 percent to an annual rate of 1.425 million in October after falling by 1.3 percent to an upwardly revised rate of 1.488 million in September.

First-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits edged slightly lower in the week ended November 12th, according to a report released by the Labor Department on Thursday.
The report said initial jobless claims dipped to 222,000, a decrease of 4,000 from the previous week's revised level of 226,000.
