lol people thinking that EA robots work in live accounts with real spreads. No wonder most traders fail, if their systems worked why would they bother winning a contest for $3,000?

you gotta think in probabilities, the highest performer couldn't achieve those result simple because sooner or later managing that huge kind of risk would result in a drawdown, probably depleating an entire account. In a contest, it wouldn't matter because it is not real money at stake, therefore, no risk involved.

ALL these Super-Duper "Traders" who made millions in matter of days in this competition should try participate in Dukascopy competitions and see where they land up : ) :D....if they managed the same results as they did in this competition, then I will even "invest" with them in REAL LIVE trading accounts to make me those millions :p.......

I use same EA on a real account. But not all brokers accept that trades because of most of brokers is a kitchens bucket shop.

Anyway good brokers always try to simulate their demo account as much as possible to reach the standards of live account up to certain degees, so at least commissions and spreads.
Contests are always offered by brokers. Pro brokers also offered forex robot contests. Such contests seem to be fair for me.
http://www.dukascopy.com/ Dukascopy offers contest too, but they don't allow EA. traders when enter in a position they should make s/l and t/p levels and also provide their analyze about their orders and post them public. Why? Such trading help hedge fund and many other investor analyze the trading skills of those traders, and maybe they will get lately a career as trader or money manager by them. So that means contests.
We are also EA coder, we know about the way EA work and we are not against EAs, but favor good EAs. But EA trade 1000 lots with commissions for few dollars and t/p for 1 pips or 0.3 pips....:D I have no words to say anymore.

let's not demonize trading robots! Using smart and automatic algorythms is a legal way to trade a live account. Any good broker allows this, because any good broker wants their clients to get filthy rich with trading. However, a good broker's demo account should be as close to a live account as possible, when it comes to commission (plus execution time, requotes, slippage, price feed, ...)
Im sure those participants who are currently leading this contest via ultra fast scalping robots have used those EAs on live accounts once and probably lost money. (Some brokers take the counterpart of their clients trades to give awesome execution time etc., until that client becomes profitable. That's when they hedge / rout through the ECN network and the client gets different executions ...)

I think it's not fair to blame the person who used EA is a cheater. I am the one who use EA. The problem is broker who set this contest offer very tight of spread. (Do you think it can be and they can offer in real account?) Just only 1 pip. It's so easy for pip hunter. One day have 86400 second. Just eat 1 pip in every second that enough for very tight spread. Now they expand 6 pips for EURUSD pair. Let me guess. Pannik used EA grid and they eat only 1 pips. Close order under micro second. It can't be happened.

I have made just 2 days ago my very own custom EA after a lot of efforts to find the best settings.
EA using De marker indicator,Force index and %bb to find divergences.
Most profitable in 5min chart in ANY pair, at any conditions.(If you need it to be VERY tight i have also the right settings for it.)
I do not have much money to use it live and this EA applies to investors with more than 1000$ in their account.
Of cource you can use it with much less money BUT you will have to be patient.
In the test showed, profits are 38.65euros in 1 1/2 months in an account of 500 euros with a DD of 2,96% with 0.01 std lots.

No, we (arbitrage guys) know some brokers where we can trade with arbitrage strategie. and 100%/month in Real - its not a fantastic
