Kill emotional trading then you have a good strategy built, i don't trade with emotions and the daily results is always profits as I'm day trading and always make sure to secure and close my profits daily, except i want to trade through asian open then i let trades run over to the next trading day.
But i most close trades each weekends so i always plan my trades and trade my plans.

I think we should not follow a strategy blindly. A strategy working for one may not working for others due to different trading personality. Everyone has different psychology. In my opinion best option is customize a strategy according to your trading personality.

A good trading strategy can make a profit on the end, there are strategy with small pips target but bigger stop loss, and there is a strategy with small stop loss and bigger target, both has own advantage and disadvantage, small target if always hit will making good profit but once loss can be lost all profit, tight stop loss maybe often hit stop loss but once profit can recover the loss.
